Thanks a lot dear for giving it a chance and liking it, it truly means a lot to me! 😳

Arnav is sure calculative, he likes to observe a person thoroughly learning all flaws and weaknesses before striking like a snake and Khushi compliments him in manipulativeness, and evil tricks, she takes benefit from a person's natural instinct of concern!

You'll see soon that they will be a match made in hell, not heaven! 😆😉

Your confusion will be cleared soon as i will be updating on daily basis! 😉

thanks for pm 😊

Thanks a lot dear for giving it a chance, i promise it won't be disappointing! 😳 It sure is a different story as i took a risk to write about two imperfect characters with a touch of reality as we don't find many sweet characters around us in the real world!

These two are like two dark forces, never bending, never bowing down to each other, one is ruthless, devious to the core and the other one is cunning and manipulative. Unusual is their nickname! 😉

You are welcome dear! Will be updating soon! 😳

Thanks a lot dear for giving it a chance! I😉 am so happy that i can't contain my happiness! 😃
All of my character's are interrelated and all of them have many things to hide. Innocence is just a superfluous thing that doesn't exist in reality and Arnav believe in that saying that's why he stalked her so he could observe her that will she be an innocent prey or not.

But found out to his cold satisfaction that she was neither innocent and nor a gentle thing! And she sure is a feisty one, not bowing down and not bending to anyone! 😆😉 And you are right about that rejection thing too! 😆😉

Sealed With Your Kiss

Chapter 4

Rising Of The Red Flag

Anger is useful only to a certain point~ After that, it becomes rage~ and rage will make you careless~

Lauren Oliver, Pandemonium

Khushi had known for some time that someone was stalking them. Or maybe it was just her imagination. But she could swear that she saw the same man outside the antique shop who a moment ago was wandering outside the jewellery shop, where she was trying to put a pair of stolen earrings in her hand purse.

Now that same man was lurking outside the antique shop too. He was a little above the average height and that was the main reason he was spotted so easily by her. But she could have bet her life that he would be spotted as much easily in a crowd too even if he was a dwarf to begin with. Such was his odd presence. She found it neither unpleasant nor pleasant just sort of eerie.

He was wearing a long overcoat over a three piece suit as it was quite cold outside, but the thing that was irritating her the most was his face which she couldn't see properly. It was a cold December day, with almost little or no sunshine to reveal the surroundings properly. The little she had seen of his face had been covered by a muffler and the upturned collar of his overcoat was hiding the rest.

Feeling frustrated and curious as hell she had once tried to see his face again by standing on her tiptoes when she had thought he wasn't looking at them, her actions shielded by the way she had kept on chattering with her friends so he wouldn't know that she was observing him. But whenever she had try to see his face it had been a thwarted attempt on her part.

Was he watching her stealing from different shops, was he some sort of security guard planted there on purpose to keep a watch on them or was he only a stalker. She shuddered to think of the latter one. There were already too many stories about kidnapping, extortion, rape and murder being shown on television. The internet was even more brutal, highlighting the gory details which the television had toned down for their weak-hearted viewers sake.

The man had not even once left them alone. He was with them all the way but not even once he had tried to come inside the shop to stop them from stealing nor he had come near them to show them from any of his gesture or crude remark that he was a stalker.

And with his clothing so neat and without any evident crease on his trousers he looked rich and not your everyday stalker guy. But who said that stalkers couldn't be rich. If a rich gal like her could be a shoplifter for fun then a rich guy could be a stalker too for fun, she sighed suppressing a hard small as she saw him observing them again through his glasses. Yeah he was even wearing glasses, to complete the ensemble of a sophisticated and mega rich businessman...

But she could bet her life that he was neither one. He looked too mysterious and untamed for an urban life, she had thought with a cold shiver...

To see if he was seeing them again through the glass wall of the shop and what would he do if he saw her stealing yet again. In a daring move she had hit the side of her elbow to a nearby shelf and in the process had knocked down several antique pieces to the ground to the very frustration of the shopkeeper. Saying sorry to the exasperated shopkeeper and staff and wincing in pain due to her injured elbow she had started gathering the pieces from the floor, observing him from beneath her lashes...

While gathering them she had looked around her to see if he was watching them and had found no one observing them, not even that stranger. So it must have been her imagination. Hiding a satisfied smile she had signalled her buddies through eye gesture and they had shielded her at once from viewing eyes. While chattering excitedly with her friends she had hidden the smallest piece of antique in her palm...

She had felt a thrilling rush of adrenaline in her veins as she felt every time she stole. Passing the antique piece to Payal who was standing nearby her she had exited the shop, her heart soaring with glee after achieving yet another victory. It was exactly at that moment when she felt that same prickling sensation in her spine which she was finding it to her utter disbelief, came the from being watched by that stranger.

For heaven's sake what stranger could be so powerful as to evoke that queer feeling inside her by being in her presence only. In her 20 years of life she hadn't even batted a lash after being leered at, winked at, or being shamelessly stared at. She had never given any importance to these measly things and they had never come across to even raising her temperature a little. But this virtual stranger was making her edgy and wanting to tear out her hairs in frustration.

Khushi was quite astonished with her own feelings, no one had evoked such powerful emotion of anger and frustration inside her...

She was deemed to be insensitive...

As she headed towards outside, she looked around to prove her forbidding feeling of being watched by that stranger right. But she found out to her satisfaction that there was no one outside. Heaving a sigh of relief she winked at Angie, giving her the all clear sign. Catching her signal with a wink of her own she started ushering out the other girls from the shop.

As they came out of the periphery of the shopping mall, she felt light all of a sudden as if a great burden had been shifted from her shoulders. Stealing was a great responsibility and her buddies had chosen her for that because they knew it was only Khushi who could achieve that, she thought giving an encouraging mental pat to herself.

As they headed towards the nearby restaurant, to celebrate another victory on achieving their "Mission Thrill", Payal again sneaked in the antique piece in her palm, on which she tightly closed her fingers down hiding it behind her back. Mission Thrill was what they had named their stealing habits.

For them shoplifting was a source of fun, as they were all the daughters of mega rich parents, bored to death of being made-up like dolls, dragged by their parents into their endless kitty parties and then presented like sacrificial goats infront of other rich businessmen's sons for ulterior motives of their own...

Who would understand them, certainly not their parents who would sell them to the highest bidder, denying the fact that they were girls not experienced women...

Girls of 20. And the most disgusting factor was that it had been going on from the time when they were in schools, just little children, raised and pampered to be used as tools in their business dealings...

And school , it had been more of a hell hole than a mere school. More than half of their lives had been spent in boarding schools, lonely, relying only on their expensive gifts which their parents sent them on every festival, yearning for a single phone call or letter. Yearning had given away into hurt, hurt into anger and anger into recklessness. There group was the most famous in their boarding school as rule breakers. They were a bunch of bullies and thieves and no one was safe from them, not even the school staff...

Complaints about them had gone unnoticed, because there parents didn't want them back...

After school they were enrolled in a college nearby their homes. And that had taken away their freedom and fun. They couldn't bully, couldn't do anything reckless as they were under the radar of their parents for 24 hours. It was killing them. But one day fate had taken a very beneficial turn for all of them as Khushi had found her father cheating on her mother.

Her poor mother, the only gentle soul she had found solace in the entire world and who had no idea about her daughter's wrongdoings. Sometimes she had felt guilty on keeping her mother in the dark about her bad habits, but she couldn't risk her telling it to her father if she ever knew about it. She would lose her freedom and that she had thought with misery she couldn't afford to lose ever.

So that day Khushi had caught her father red-handed, taking a woman into a hotel room, the same hotel where the whole lot of them were celebrating Payal's birthday. She had been quite shocked and hurt but had never expected much from him. Making her excuses from her friends who had seen them too and masking her agony behind a cynical mask she had approached her father shocking the socks off him.

The first thing he did was to plead with her not to tell the shocking incident to her mother. She had agreed but had also presented her condition of giving her money whenever she asked him. Without a moment of hesitation he had agreed...

And here the fun had started again...

Coming out of her painful memories with a start she noticed that she was lagging behind the group and had quite forgotten about that stranger. Feeling that strange prickling feeling on her neck again she turning her head back to see if he was behind them and spotted him at once through the corner of her eyes.

But before she could see his face the sun chose that moment to come out from behind the clouds and the stranger virtually vanished in the mist as the sunlight directly hit her in the retina, blinding her painfully...

Squinting her eyes in the sunlight and cursing her ill-fate at not being able to see his face properly she could only trace out his dark halo and at such a near distance it looked so menacing that she shivered with foreboding.

Quickly she unzipped her bag and slipped the stolen antique piece in it, but she already had a gut-wrenching feeling that he had seen her holding it in her hand. She mentally cursed herself for being so dumb as to not put the piece in her hand bag right away when Angie gave it to her.

She was pondering over how to see his face without letting him be known that someone was trying to observe him, to judge his expressions when Angie called her. Other girls of the group were asking about the things that they had stolen from different shops.

She hesitated, because she didn't want to show them the things in open space where the stranger could see it but as the girls persisted so she unzipped her hand bag to show them a glimpse of stolen belongings. They all hooted with glee, whooping with victory over their "Mission Thrill". They had named their stealing habits the name of "Mission Thrill". And Khushi was the leader of their mission thrill, because she was the most daring and reckless one in the whole group...

Thumping Khushi's back in encouragement and singing her praises they all headed towards the restaurant. But Khushi had gone silent, her mood destroyed by that effing pain in the neck stranger. For the first time in her life she felt no spark of thrill, no rush of adrenaline lighting her up which usually came after pursuing every wicked thrill in their books...

And it was all because of that stupid stranger, she started to curse him mentally...

"Hey, Khushi, hey".

She came out of her thoughts on Angie's voice asking her about what she would like to eat and suddenly she felt famished and her stomach growled as if agreeing to her feelings. The other girls stomach started growling in course too as if letting their protest known to their owner who were roaming through the mall from morning. Laughing they decide to eat a huge meal, courtesy of Khushi's money...

When they settled around the table in the far corner a young waiter made a bee line for them. They knew him as they often come here. He had tried to throw a line on Arohi (one of the group member) in the past and that was because Arohi had been given a dare by them to flirt with him. He was really a very shy and good-natured guy and he had apologized to them in the past too but still whenever they visited the restaurant they lightly teased him about it. He would become sheepish and they would all enjoy his discomfort.

They all started to eat after one of the elderly waiter served them. While eating Khushi again felt the same prickling sensation. feeling irritated she threw back the fork on her pastry plate and she started scanning the restaurant for the stranger among the people sitting at the tables.

And zap here she found their stalker sitting comfortably at the table placed in the other corner not quite far from them. His head was bent over his tab and whatever he was doing on it he seemed too absorbed inn his work, to notice his surroundings. She craned her neck to take a better look at his face. He had removed his over coat, muffler and glasses and was now sitting on his chair in a relaxed pose.

The light was dim in the restaurant to give the illusion of fake cosiness. But from whatever light there was she could see the lean bone structure of his face. The light which was casting shadows over his cheekbones, illuminated the sharp angles of his jaw and the shadow of a beard darkening his face. His hairs were dark too and slicked back from his face like those mafia men whom she had seen in movies...

Payal (one of the group member) saw her looking towards him curiously so she scooted near her and asked her in a whisper if she knew him. Khushi whispered back a no but told her in a hushed voice that he must be either a security guard or a stalker, but she had no confirmation whatsoever on both cases.

The other girls had also noticed them talking in a hushed tone so they too started asking about him. Payal pointed towards him to show them. Khushi was confused about what to do. Should she catch him red-handed stalking after them or ask him directly what was his intentions towards them or maybe towards one of them...

It was at that moment that she did what she would regret for many days to come. Angie had shared her idea with her. Infact it was more of a dare and less of an idea. Angie had wanted her to flirt with the stranger and in between the conversation learn about his intentions. She had told her with a conspiratorial wink that If he'll show some interest in her however minor it would be than he would be truly stalking them if no then she must be imagining it...

Khushi had flirted and teased many boys in her life, had even made fun of the geeky and nerdy ones who had been too shy to approach her but she had always steered clear of mature men married or unmarried. Even she wasn't that dumb to not know the dangers of teasing a grown up man. You never know when they could turn violent.

And that stranger, well boy did he looked mature. She didn't know how to approach him, what if she found out he was dangerous and looking at him like this she couldn't find anything gentle in his roughly hewn features.

Even the daring and reckless Khushi was quaking in her shoes as trying to gather her scattered wits she got up from the chair. Biting her lips nervously and tugging at her top with sweaty fingers she started walking towards him. When she stopped near his table, he remained seated in the same pose, with his head bent over his tab. The first thing she noticed about him was his hair, which were black, and cut in luxurious layers to fall over his shirt collar. They seemed quite soft to his rugged masculine looks.

When he didn't lift her head to acknowledge her presence she went on observing his presence and the second thing she noticed about him were his hands. They looked strong and well capable hands with long, lean and square tipped fingers that were moving efficiently on the screen of his tab...

She cleared her throat, maybe he was unaware of her presence. But still he ignored her. She was getting irritated now from his constant silence, so shifting her weight to one hip and putting her hand on her waist in the exaggerated pose that no boy had ever been able to resist asked his permission to sit at his table in her most husky but subtle voice...

At that he begun to raise his head slowly and she thought smiling victoriously in her heart "there go his cold ignorance", but what she saw in his face almost vanished her fake smile and knocked her up for cold. There was nothing whatsoever soft about the rigid quality of his face.

The harsh reality of the world was etched in each and every feature of his stone-hewn face. Wooden, expressionless, unlike those innocent cherubic faces of the boys with whom she liked to flirt. When she dared to look beyond his compressed lips and into his eyes she find herself lost in the hazel maze as if she was some helpless prey pinned beneath the cold and ruthless gaze of a predator.

Her breath frozen in her throat in front of some nameless faceless terror she felt her heart almost stopping for a moment. Feeling light-headed with a deep buzzing sound in her ears she felt his mouth forming some words but heard no voice that must be coming out out of them. It took some time but she did get her breath back to listen to him rudely rejecting her...

That rude rejection quite did the work of restoring her scattered senses back into order.

Now she was really annoyed. No one in her life had spoken to her like that before and no one had dared to reject her offer of flirting with them. Who the hell did he think he was? She thought angrily. She was now cursing the time when she had accepted Angie's dare. But she was khushi and she didn't belong to those people who easily accepted their defeat...

So she took a deep breath, lifted her stubborn chin higher, which gave her an air of arrogance, pasted a false smile on her face and boldly dragging the chair out, sat on it with a thump. She could feel irritation staring back at her from his eyes, but she wasn't included in the list of those people who got discouraged by a simple stare and who would took no for an answer.

Sticking out her hand beneath his nose she introduced herself. For a second something heated flickered behind his cold eyes and she felt his calculating gaze flitting across her features. She felt unease trickle down her spine at his dissecting, microscopic gaze. But ignoring that feeling she kept on smiling and then she saw his hand, slowly lifting upwards as if to shake her hand.

But her deepening victorious smile vanished as he muttered something which sounded like curse words. Totally feeling out of her depth at seeing the scowl now adorning his face, she asked him that what he was muttering about. But he royally ignored her question. By now a deep frustrating burn had started inside her heart, why wasn't the man bending, why was he making it so difficult for her, she thought imagining about teaching him a lesson for his rudeness but her imagination crash landed brutally at his next cruel words...

They were not mere words but acid spewing from his mouth and dripping into her ears, cutting her to the core. She knew that every word with which he was lashing her soul was nothing but the truth. But no one had ever dared until now to show her the truth about her ways. A red haze was beginning to wrap itself around her mind, blinding her. She had never been so angry in her entire life, that she felt insane with the rage pounding in her temples.

The man finished giving her the dose of ugly truth and started to get up from his chair. But she was still trembling with a furious crushing rage that he was seemed to be quite ignorant of. Well he wasn't getting away with what he had done, no one had ever.

She won't be taking bull shit from anyone, hadn't she promised herself. Not even from a stranger. Without thinking about the consequences she looked around and found out to her great satisfaction the untouched coffee mug on his table which was still filled with the hot frothy liquid. She took that mug and spilled it's hot contents... on his arrogant face...
