“tringg!! tringg!!" The alarm rang as usual on its time, indicating the time of the day. But today it was different for Shiv! Other days by this time he used to wake up and prepare for his long day at the training center, but today, he can't just wake up..
The bed still smelt of the roses and jasmines used for the decorations. The candle wax smell mixed with the atmosphere gave the room a dreamy feel as it was giving last night.
His eyes opened to the figure laying beside him, a petite lady snuggling into him, her sprawled across the white pillows. He smiled watching the figure as it was his wife's, Shalini's; the very reason he couldn't wake up this morning to go to his training center soon. He just wanted to hug his newly wedded wife and go to sleep again, after a tiresome and pleasurable night, their wedding night.
But!! But his duty asked for sacrifices, sacrifice of his personal life, sacrifice of his love, and most importantly, sacrifice of his identity!!
The past two days were tiring for Shiv. But now, it felt so surreal..surreal to have his love of his life beside him. He could love her, pamper her, and moreover, he didn't fear now that she would be gone from him. Shalini was now his, forever!! And he would make sure that she would remain his forever!
The sudden stir in Shalini's body, brought from his dreamland of admiring her faces. Now, he didn't have to dream, all of hers was his!!
The fight he put up through, seemed worth it to him..after all he got his Shalini through the fight. From the first meet of theirs at college to the night before's lovemaking, a battle both had fought and won it!! He was sure her father would agree to their match one day..afterall how much her father would stay away from his doting princess. One day, both would be accepted with love and appreciation and that day they would definitely tell their love story to the whole world. A journey worth it!
His family was appreciative of his love, for them their son's choice mattered the most. A good son throughout his life and an excellent student throughout his career, Shiv's choice for his life partner was bound to be honored. And Shalini's humble and grounded nature worked like a magic on his father, she became the daughter his father never had. But, every love story was bound to have hurdles; Shalini's family in his case. Disapproval of Shiv was bound to be given his humble and his too humble job, but Shalini never gave up..both fought the battle to win at last.
“tringg..tringg..” the second alarm or the emergency alarm, in case he was late, rang indicating Shiv to wake up finally. This time, he couldn't succumb to any of his excuses and finally he got up and started a new day as “Parshuram”!!
