Kareena Kapoor - Refugee...Doing Masala entertainers now a days with blink and miss roles. Amazing actress but works only with stars and kind of ruined her career

Bipasha Basu - Ajnabee..A sex symbol.But a fine actress.As an actress never got her due.Career is finished kind off with no film in hand and got stuck in horror films and sexy image

Esha Deol - Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe...Now Married and had no career.She was good in Ankahee though

2004
Lara Dutta - Andaaz.Now Married and did supporting roles.She has a great comic timing .But never was a A-Lister

Ayesha Takia - Taarzan: The Wonder Car--.Married .Ruined her career for personal life .She had a huge hit before marriage .I feel she is one of the most natural actress from the list .Fab in Dor and good in Socha na tha.But never was ambitious and could not make any career

Vidya Balan - Parineeta--A woman who changed the dynamics of bollywood heroine .Had huge success till 2012.Gave hit after hit with critical acclaim.Now after 4 flops her career is going nowhere.Awesome actress with best dialog delivery .

Kangana Ranaut - Gangster .One of the top actress now .Started with some excellent performances but never got her due until recently giving hits on her own.Personally one of my favorite .

Deepika Padukone - Om Shanti Om Started with a hit and a star status.But till 2012 was stuck with the image of a Party girl.Now has improved hugely And one of the top actress at this moment .She has come a long was from a non actor top one of the best

Asin Thottumkal - Ghajini Flowerpot roles with Khans and getting married soon.No career left.Could have done a much better job with her career

Sonakshi Sinha - Dabangg Flowerpot roles with Khans.No one took her seriously until Lootera.But some how wants to be a flowerpot.One of the actress who could have reached a great position if had taken risks.

Dilwale can work wonders for Kriti. But yea, she is too new to comment on just yet. She has spark though.

Kareena is a brilliant actress but wasting her talent.

Deepika just doesn't work for me.

Kangana I am warming up to but it's still an on-going process.

Vidya is amazing but she has one type of acting mostly. I wish she brings some freshness into her performances because she is a gifted actress.

Parineeti is not versatile. But what she can do she does well and most importantly no other actress can really do it better than her so she is the best choice for the Zoya-like roles. She's overhyped though, she wasn't the next best thing that happened to Bollywood like she was made out to be.

Esha Deol, I feel, could've shown significant growth had she been able to sustain her career and chosen better scripts. She wasn't too bad of an actress. Same with Bipasha.

I 100% agree with you on Ayesha Takia. Wore her character like a second skin. She is one actress I would've loved to see more of and truly miss from this list.

Sonakshi was really good in Lootera but I never cared much for her. Like I know a lot of people who are supremely disappointed that she didn't sustain doing that kind of work but I moved on.

Lara, Asin and Ileana are forgettable. No clue who Vaani Kapoor is either.

I still wonder why they didn't present this award for films released in 2009.

However the best two new girls won awards for their first film: Dev.D

I really feel Lara, Esha, Bipasha and Ayesha were ridiculously underrated. Lara Dutta was amazing in No Entry, Bipasha has done lots of good work as well , and Ayesha was amazing in Socha Na Thaa - Esha Deol was also good in Ankahee, Darling, Just Married

They were a lot better than some of the so called "up and coming" actresses of today. Even Asin is good.

Filmfare has a good eye for selecting Female Debutantes.

I agree with Rekhaji, wonder why they skipped Female Debuts for '09 despite Dev D girls. Although, it's great to acknowledge them in Acting categories. 👏

The Best:

Kangana & Vidya: Really fine and natural actresses. Lasted the test of time. Wise enough to know their strengths and hold their own with choices. More power to them in future. 👏

Kareena: Gifted actress but got confused with Star vs. Actress titles. I feel she wanted stardom more and that is evident with her choices. Acting was just coincidental. But when she acts in the right role, she does a great job!

The Good

Deepika : Decent, but I wouldn't say a natural performer as the above.

Aayesha: I LOVED DOR. She deserved a National Award along with Gul Panag. Too bad she never got utilized.

Parineeti: Fine actress, natural but stuck in same role type. Loved in Ricky Bahl and Ishaqzaade. She can shine if she chooses her roles well. She should play a subtle character. I wouldn't write her off.

The OK

Sonakshi: one Lootera to show that she has it... but the rest?? :(

Bipasha: Had the potential as seen in Corporate but was heavily underutilized IMO. Her sex appeal came her way, i guess.

Vaani: She looked good in Shudh Desi Romance and did her part well)

Lara: Haven't seen her work much but she is an excellent speaker and confident performer)

Asin: Looked good in Ghajni... underutilized

Ileana: Decent in Barfi... forgotten

Don't Care (Haven't seen their work)
