@ TM all new shows starts well and the real task comes in maintaining the momentum...

That's what I am apprehensive about. The background has been beautifully done if I consider it is after all a daily show. I came across an article where the writer is visibly disappointed because the pre- independence era int he show is not rightly depicted. I agree few things don't go with what we have learnt about the second world war or the Indian independence from the history books but creating an old era with vintage cars, carriages and horses,maintaining a Haveli in the show is not a child's play either.

Rajmata's notion about royalty is confusing. The etiquette she is talking about is learned and not inherited directly. Why would the princes be sent to London for higher studeies then ? From Sher Shah Suri to Napolean, History has witnessed such great Kings who made it all on their own merit and didn't inherit it from their fore fathers. Besides, the time she is Rajmata now , the kingdom is surrounded by the British in the name of Subsidiary alliance. The Kings were no more free in their own Kingdom.

We learnt the lives of Rana's family and we came across

the lives of Gobind Seth's family. Gobind Seth made an interesting comment on Rana's status. His view on the Royal family explains the era where democracy was slowly penetrating the Indian mindset. The Maharajas were on the verge of losing their original position and Gobind Seth acknowledged the fact. The Kings were no more the masters of their masses.

The story is not new. We have been bombarded with same storylines before. What new here is that the difference of the rich and the class, the hypocrisy of the elite families, the arrogance of a royal family and the changing mindset of the Indian sub continent.

I admire the character of Gayatri although she is annoying at times. With that, I admire she fears no body and no one, not even the King himself. As her father says, she is much more worthy than her own brothers and had she been a boy herself she would have deserved to be her father's heir. How sad it is to know that woman were not considered heir then. Even Rana thinks the same way irrespective of the world and privileges he has in his life.Without creating a scene or uttering a word, she asks her question to the King about why should not women be allowed driving licsences. She will ask for her rights and cannot be denied on the terms that she is a girl.

I am sure she will make a better queen than the current Rajmata. By the time she takes the title India will be a free country. So, we possibly will witness her as the new political leader of free India. I don't think we need another Cindrella here when the girl is efficient enough to have her own share of fame.

Overall, the show is definitely entertaining as of now. Lets see what happens next.

That's true. If we were to take films for example which have depicted the pre independence era like Lagaan and more, the budget is of course much higher but considering how this is a TV show and for a serial to show present this pre independence era is something i consider as good already as i'm sure they can't have it perfect.

How sad it is to know that woman were not considered heir then. - This was well said. I too noticed that but perhaps it would have been happening during the era. In fact i was actually surprised she was educated and had the freedom as i expected them to show that a girl would not need to study and she just needs to get married and leave the house. In the scene between Rana, i don't think he shares the same mindset though its something for us to see in the coming episodes.

I'm sure the episodes after the marriage should be interesting on how would Gayatri adapt herself to the royal lifestyle and eventually being the queen to the kingdom and also to Rana.
