Hi everyone, since ive been posting in the CG, this is my first post on the main forum regarding the show. I had initially thought i shall not post my view and reserve it as all new shows starts well and the real task comes in maintaining the momentum. However with each episode being something to look forward,
here i am.

Firstly coming to the storyline, its not an entirely new story i would say. We have seen similar stories of an innocent girl, a dark and brooding guy and how they are brought together by fate. But what makes ETRETR different is how there is a sort of a classic touch and the story being set in the 1940s backdrop. Making a show that is set in the 1940s itself is a challenge as it needs to be given detailing right from the setting, costumes, cars, hairstyling and more. What have been shown so far is really good seeing how much care has been given for all these details and giving the right touch to the show. Im not sure if has there been any shows before which had been shown of having the retro concept but if ETRETR is the first, then kudos to the makers for their attempt and effort.

In fact, it also gives the feel of watching a movie. Coming down to the characters, Rana being played by Sid is perfect for the role. He does oozes the royal feel with his looks and his beard. His calm voice tone is also good for someone who is a Prince hence not having to be loud but being calm and graceful. He is a prince who don't just sit and enjoy the lavish lifestyle but also get down to work and goes for wars. He understands the his people and trying to ensure there is no gap between him and his people which is commendable. He also has pain of losing his wife due to an accident and losing his colleague in the war which perhaps makes him get traumatic when it comes to dealing with losses. Was his wife's death part of a plan which was meant for Rana?

His family comprises of his loving Rajmata who seems to give care for her appearance, sees status that she belongs to the royal family but at the same time a loving mother by heart. And there is also Rana's uncle and his cousin who tries to harm Rana and trying to take over the royal position.

Coming to Gayatri, she is simple, educated and also a loving and helpful person to the family. She is also someone who isn't afraid of speaking up but at the same time knows how to respect someone. She is basically your next door girl. Despite the show being set in the 40's, they didn't stereotyped Gayatri by showing her only cooking and being in the kitchen but she also reads books and goes for driving. Despite knowing how her sister in laws are making use of her, she still do care for them. One thing that i also noticed is Gayatri's father was a refreshing character i would say. Its normally shown how the own parents would be cursing the daughter's fate or de-moralize her esp when any attempt of her wedding is not successful. Here, Gayatri's father supports her and her decisions. He also loves her that he would do anything his daughter asks for. In a way, both Rana and Gayatri have their loving parents with them who only want to see them happy.

And she simply adores Rana even without meeting him but just by hearing about him. The scene of Gayatri learning driving and crosses path with Rana though Rana doesn't see her was really interesting. In fact im not sure if anyone else noticed the symbolism in the scene. Rana was driving and was lost in the memory of his wife meeting with accident in front of his wife and cut to the present, another car being drove by Gayatri crosses his path. In a way its showing how his wife was his past and Gayatri is now here for his future. The note exchange was nice especially with Rana replying back in a sarcastic way which make Gayatri angry with Rana. However that didn't last when she heard Rana's conversation in the library with his Sipahi and realizes that Rana is indeed a nice person. And has destiny plays its game, Gayatri and Rana encounter each another which even Gayatri starts wondering how come is she meeting him repeatedly. In fact, both Gayatri and Rana are set to meet again by going to the same village.

As we all know, Gayatri would one day marry Rana but the big question is how would that happen? One thing i liked about this show that there was no dragging to show both the leads meeting each another or making it looking so forced. Here by the 5th episode, there is already Gayatri falling and Rana catching her and sharing eyelocks instead of Rana staring or getting angry with her which we normally see in most shows. Hope the show maintains the same quality and do not drag things and keep giving us more scenes of Rana and Gayatri as they are already looking good together.

Loved your post and the analogy you made wrt their meeting and Rana's wife's accident. The show is a visual treat - the strongest part of the show. Hope the episodes continue to be crisp and gripping.

Visha welcome 😃 ...

Looking forward to your takes now ..

I totally agree about the royal touch thats given to the show .. thats what makes it different or else the story is common ... the sets , ambience and the classic feel which it gets due to that vintage 40s era sets it different and makes it an interesting watch ..

Also I m loving how Gayatri's character is not a typical damsel in distress who sheds buckets of tears because of her bad fate or who gets cursed by her family due to her bad fate .. Instead she is a fun loving girl who acts her age , is also a dreamer and dont shy away from drooling over a prince and is the pampered girl of her father .. best part is her parents adore her and not curse her for something for which she is not responsible ..

Coming to Rana's character , again what I m loving is despite hving a tragic past , he is not those typical mills and boons heroes who r snobbish , arrogent and will simply manhandle a girl with the excuse of a bad past .. the way he was so humble with Gayatri after she falls in his arms , gives that gentleman feel .. he does not use the excuse of his past to behave rudely with others which again makes him different

Rest lets see how it goes ..

Beautiful take! Enjoyed reading it! 👍🏼

ETRETR is a refreshing show to watch! I like how Gayatri is a progressive female character who is headstrong and confident. I also like that Rana ji is a poised and wise male character. 😊

I'm loving the storyline so far! Hope it stays this way!

DD and Siddhant are doing a fantastic job acting wise!🥳

While watching, i was not sure if it was meant to be pass that message through that scene or it was just me that saw the symbolism in that scene. Yes, i also wish the same that it continues to be engaging and not loses the grip as the story progress.

Thanks Jyo 😊
That's true. We've seen similar story but its nice to see the show makers giving their own touches to these scenes and story. Like even the falling in the arms have been shown many times and even DD had done similar scenes before but what makes it different is the own touch. Even i was expecting Rana to scold Gayatri like what is she doing there or why didn't she watch where she is going. And i thought again Gayatri was going to dislike him saying how kadus Rana was but he in fact hold her and remained calm. He even asked if she was alright and that was a beautiful touch to his character.

Yes, despite his past, he doesn't let his past overtake him or influence him though it disturbs his thoughts. So he is basically still in control of his behavior and his mannerism. True, despite failed marriage proposals, Gayatri is not feeling sad over it or shown praying 'hey bhagwan, please help me..' wala scenes. She is in fact still enjoying life and being happy in her own world. To add on, her parents are also her pillar of support that don't taunt her for her fate.

So far so good 😆
