Slap Drama: A reality check for Gayatri??

Well in the past few episodes that I have been following, Gayatri is busy swooning over Ranaji just like a teenage girl going all giddy over her crush.

I understand that in those days, the interaction between a man and woman was not a very 'aam baat' like nowadays, so the attraction level was on a high than the love level, as love happens when you get to know the person. So Gayatri's situation is to some extent understandable.

She is a grown woman, with fantasies and desires of any other woman and it is quite likely to think and feel the way she is feeling at present. And thankfully she is not a sanctimonious preacher woman or mahaan aatma..

I know, many won't agree with what I feel, but I think Gayatri's dreaminess is now going overboard. I am actually now skipping the scenes where Gayatri goes all drooling over Ranaji. She is a brave girl, courageous person, I get it, but this fangirl mode is now completely embarrassing me now.

It seems to me that all her senses have gone numb. She is not thinking anything at all. I don't say that she is wrong in any way. But I just expect a bit more mature behavior from a 22 year old woman.. Maybe this slap drama will be the much needed reality check for her.

Running away from reality is not the solution to her problems. Because after her marriage this reality will help her cope with Ranaji's aloofness and cold shoulder treatment he will be giving her. As it is said being a princess does not have to be a fairy tale ending... Infact it is a beginning of a goddamn nightmare...even worse than her back bitching bhabis...

Please, ye drool mode khatm karo...bahut ho gaya ye drooling and swooning...I think its time the story moves forward from there.

I completely agree everyone I talk to is getting irritated. Yeah I get it their trying to show her as a different girl from others at a time. Yes women's sexuality and desires should be explored too. Just as openly as a man's. But it's getting to the point where she almost comes across DESPO. I would say the same thing if they had showed a man drooling THIS much over a girl he barely even knew. Romance and fantasies need to be kept to some what of a restraint so their is angst in the romance. And we see ppl falling in love little by little. Ranaji might have saved her life but he hasn't done anything that great for her to be drooling this much.

If the slap will make her come out of her LA la land than I am all for it.

@Dwarfy: Couldn't have said it better. I always seem to be in agreement with your posts :)

Also, I think that if they had gone in-depth or had provided a valid reason other than Gayu being impressed with Ranaji just because he himself went to fight in WWII then it would have made much more sense. But even then, by now it would have bordered on desperation rather than admiration.

All little girls dream of marrying their prince charming, and in Gayu's case Rana literally IS prince charming, so there's nothing wrong in that but logically, it doesn't make sense for a 22 year old girl to be so obsessed with a man just because he is a benevolent prince. Being a highly logical person, I need more concrete reasons.

Moreover, it would have been better if they showed her fascination with Rana ji after they got married, after she started developing feelings for him because right now it just seems weird that she would fan-girl over him after only two meetings...well that's not entirely correct I guess, since she has been fan-girling over him since the first episode...before they even met.

Forgot to mention...right now her feelings seem superficial, shallow even ( at least to me) but I think after they get married, after she realizes that there is a lot more to Rana than just being an altruistic prince, after she ACTUALLY gets to know him, her feelings will feel genuine. Currently, she is living in a little girl's fantasy bubble which is going to pop soon enough 😆😆

Thank God...there are some who agree with me. I find this swooning nonsense really annoying now. She is a 22 year old woman, not a 2 year old child, that she has to behave in such a manner. She just seems to lose her sense of restraint when she is in her dreamland.

Thankfully, nothing embarrassing has happened in real, but her drool-worthy dreams also make no sense to me. I thought she was a girl aware of her harsh reality, and so she finds comfort in her books and dreams.

But no, now they are showing that reality is sometimes like a dream. She thinks that Rana ji is a prince charming and knight in shining armor like in her books. A benevolent prince and King does not make him a perfect human being. he also has his set of weaknesses and flaws.

I know Gayatri shouldn't be aware of all this right now, she will be after marriage, but I still think that they should show Gayatri to be more sensible and mature for her age. And I just don't find concrete reasons for her to drool over him like that or behave so kiddishly to catch a glimpse of him and other such instances.

I agree with you completely. CVs are completely overlooking the fact that a girl as educated as Gayatri should well be aware of the fact that there are two sides to any government leader, or King. The way they present themselves in public and the way they actually are. She is a well read girl yet so delusional about the fact she is drooling over a complete stranger. What does she really know about Ranaji? Does she even know him as a person? He can be doing completely heinous things in private and be hiding them from the public. She should know enough not to judge a book by its cover.

I too agree on ur points it's getting overboard seems in the party it will continue too .
Gayathri character is getting too low these days I assumed it will be subtle like vidya balan in parineeta this is too much to that era girls .she is brave outsmart in many ways but wish she had some maturity .
Hope this slap mellows her down

I actually kinda disagree, I think whatever the CVs are trying to portray is a reality check for all the girls who are in a situation like this. The infatuation Gayatri is going through is pretty common even in this decade. It's just at times the portrayal can be considered a bit dramatic and maybe a little childish in a way. However that is because it is a show. Sometimes one meeting is enough for someone to fall head over heels in love and in this case Ranaji saving Gayatri's life was enough for her to start dreaming of being his Queen 😆 But sadly her dreams will be shattered soon after her marriage as she will realize the harsh reality of being married to someone who is not willing to replace his first love with anyone!
