Bebo becomes Mary

The actress sizzles in an item number in Akshay-Sidharth starrer Brothers

Kareena Kapoor is all set to unleash her super-sexy avatar as Mary in a hot number that she shot for Karan Malhotra's Brothers The song Mary Sau Taka Teri Hai is all set to become the next Chikni Chameli (Karan's last movie Agneepath had Katrina as Chameli. So whose idea was it it to get Bebo on board? "Both Karan (Johar) and I who thought that she would be great for the number," says Malhotra. Looks like adding a fast-paced number has become a lucky charm of sorts for Malhotra. He says, "Not really. I enjoy this kind of celebration with a great song at a critical moment in the film. This kind of a number uplifts the momentum of the film. In Agneepath, Chikni came at a time when Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt face each other, it was a turning point in the movie. This time too the song will come at a crucial moment."

While last time both Sanju and Hrithik were seen in Chikni, this time, though, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in the song and Akshay Kumar won't be in the same frame. Upon prodding further, Karan says, "I can't reveal more about the song, but it is a very important moment in

the movie."

And while the number looks super glamorous, shooting it was a difficult task. "It was a very challenging shoot. We had put a set outdoor, which can be difficult to handle. If you have a set up indoor, you are in a controlled environment, but the moment you start shooting outside the dynamics change, We had put the set in Madh Island and shot for seven nights. Kareena went all out and did a great job. There were times we need to do 10 or 20 takes because we were shooting outdoor, but she never had any issues," says Malhotra.

While Chikni Chameli was a reprised version of the famous Ajay-Atul's hit Kombdi Palali, Mary is a reprised version of another song Ye Go Ye Maina from the same movie. "That movie has only two songs, which have been used for two of my movies. It's quite a coincidence."

One can't help but notice that it's pretty much the Chikni Chameli team " with Karan behind the camera, Ajay-Atul composing the song, Amitabh Bhattacharya writing it and Ganesh Acharya choreographing the number " so did he miss Katrina? "I think every song has it's destiny. Katrina did more than justice to Chikni Chameli and Kareena has absolutely made Mary her own," says the director.
