Why Did Veer, London Dreams, and MAMK Not Work?

Just saw a list of recent movies by Salman in another thread.

I am genuinely asking, what did audiences not care for in these movies?

Was it the storyline, the production values, the co-stars?

Overexposure of Salman for that year, plus Salman was going through bad phase from 2000-2008, which reflected in 2009. Only Wanted worked that year, plus those 2 films, MAMK & London Dreams came around Diwali, MAMK with 3 films, 2 weeks later LD, now audience couldn't connect with those films.

Veer came next year in Jan, by that time, it was clear Salman was to change himself to be in Game, he did & Bounce back with Dabangg in 2010. Now no looking back.

^ but how come Wanted worked, and the other ones didn't?

Also Diwali is supposed to be a good time to release films.. how did the timing not work out?

trust me veer and mamk are crapfest! I could not watch more than 10 minutes of these two.

no idea about London dreams...is sounds bad too...

and bhai was flopstar then... Anything he touched turned into a flop.

Calling MAMK a salman movie is like calling Billu a SRK movie .London dreams,Veer didn't work cos they were terrible

Salman got a career revival after Dabanng unlike any other. He finally found his niche, one that had been empty for years since Sunny Paaji's big hero days.

Wanted worked coz that film brought back a genre which was not explored much in that whole decade, Masala Genre - Mixture all various genre. Although Ghajini came last year in 2008, was Masala film, but it didn't have that huge Jalwa kind of song craze, it was more revenge-love story, while Wanted was complete entertainer, that too on EID, after long time a SOLO Salman film on EID.

Diwali is festival time, but if u serve 3 films on diwali, ppl will chose Family Comedy Entertainers. MAMK came with All the Best(Family Comedy) & Blue (Urban Thriller), while MAMK was on Marriage problems between 2 couples. IT was bound to flop even if it won't have landed on Diwali.

London Dreams was released just 2 weeks after that, bad timing, if it would have given some time, it might be not be flop.

There was no turning back after that.

They say that after one film works, your stars turn. Suddenly audiences are willing to give you a fair shot for whatever you do next.

Salman already had a loyal fan following. They were in hibernation, in a way. Dabanng reawakened everyone's inner Salman fan.

Wanted reawakened those Salman fans, which after a short break came back in full force for Dabangg.

You confuse audience with 3 films, u will get only 1 winner. Terrible mistake from Blue Makers to land that film with clash, if it would have come solo, it won't be that bad.
