You were just too good for Bollywood anyway. #Bring home the Oscars. Though my heart goes out to ARK/SidM/Farhan/Fawad etc. all of whom were waiting with bated breath to star opposite her in Battle for Bittora.

Sonam auditions for Pirates of the Caribbean

Her father is enjoying a new surge in his professional life thanks to his foray into Hollywood. And after gracing several international fashion events and endorsing luxury brands,Sonam Kapoor gets her first real taste of Hollywood. Even if it is just an appetiser.

TOI has learnt that the actress, who is enjoying her time in the sun with the success of Ranjhanaa and Bhaag Milka Bhaag, recently auditioned for a dream role. The 24-year -old is apparently in the reckoning for the fifth installment of the hugely successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, top lined by Johnny Depp. The makers of the franchise reportedly contacted a celebrity management company, who reached out to Anil Kapoor, who in turn primed his daughter for the big test.

The audition was held last week in a studio in Andheri. A source close to the development said, "Sonam breezed through the auditions. The outcome is awaited." Sources confirmed to TOI thatSonam even had a long video conference with representatives from the makers, Walt Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer. The casting agents of the film in question were also present during her acid test. The fifth installment of the series is slated to go on floors in 2015. While it is too early to speculate on Sonam's possible role in the film, it would be interesting to see of she gets to romance one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress says that she is considering Hollywood projects like her father Anil Kapoor...

Sonam Kapoors daddy Anil Kapoor's career got a new lease as he ventured into Hollywood projects like Slumdog Millionaire and The Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. He went on to feature in the Indian version of the popular American show 24. Looks like Sonam in impressed by the way Anil's career has shaped post his Hollywood outings and she too wants to try out that avenue herself. In an interview with a leading daily Sonam has revealed that she already has auditioned for a few international projects.

She says, "I am auditioning for a few international projects. I can talk about them only when they think I am good enough, and finalise me." So what kind of a film would it be like- a romance, thriller, action or drama? Sonam is yet to fill us in on the deets. But she does go on to say that, "That's how my career in Bollywood also started. I was born with a silver spoon, but I auditioned a lot and worked hard. That's how I got my first film, Saawariya, in 2007. I have worked really hard to get my career going," and we do agree with her on that. She has proven that she is worth her salt as an actor in Ranjhanaa and Bhaag Milkhaa Bhaag.Her upcoming film is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo And her upcoming film is the Neeraj Bhanot biopic which is a poignant re-telling of the late PanAm flight attendant's story. At this point it would be exciting to watch Sonam dabble in a new industry as she does have an international appeal!
