The fact that the Haider actor is debuting on TV has got us all excited, so every time we chance upon an update we cannot help but share it with you. And here's the latest one...

Shahid Kapoor is ready for his small screen debut and will be stepping into Madhuri Dixit Nene's shoes as the judge of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. And now, we have some more dope on Sasha and his starry dance reality show. It seems that the actor wanted to have a perfect debut and hence wanted East India Comedy to write the show. However, the EIC team turned down this offer. Shahid and EIC share a good rapport and have in fact worked together earlier for International Indian Film Academy Awards.

A source told BollywoodLife, "Shahid was keen on working with East India Comedy for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as well. He hasn't directly approached them, however channel (Colors) tried their best to persuade EIC who turned down the offer citing issues. EIC is known for a certain kind of comedy, which they felt did not fit Indian television viewing and hence did not accept this offer."

We also spoke to EIC team member, Azeem Banatwalla, who confirmed that they were approached by Colors, but could not take it up as they had too much work on their platter and also felt that the platform' did not work for them. How we wish the channel could get this fun team on board, we're sure Shahid would have been pleased to hear that one. May be some other time on another platform, right?

Why didn't HR judge a show back in the days?

Personally, I myself don't want him to become a permanent judge in this show, concentrate on his career ... hoping it's just for this season. But when MD left ... have a feeling it's KJo's doing. Mostly it's for Shaandaar promotion. The show will be ending around the days, when Shaandaar releases.

But Shahid is still on JDJ right? It would have been nice if the comedy was well scripted, I kind of felt he was awkward when he came to JDJ 6.

If they plan to focus on Dancing and less on nautanki, then this decision of shahid could be worth it. But if it's the same old drama of worshipping celebs and lame attempts at comedy, then this show is definitely not worth it.

Having said that, I will catch a few episodes for him. 😳

Depends on the hosts. Who are the hosts? Last year the buzz was about hosts, this year judges ... Nowhere I read the names of em.
