I just don't know, Am I being too judgemental? The episodes these days are of pretty good quality, the story is kind of moving (not as fast as I want) and there is a combination of different emotions. With Ayaan and his antics they are introducing the necessary light hearted moments, but somewhere I find these light heartedness kind of jarring to my taste. And I just couldn't relate to most scenes, wonder whether I should give a break to making takes until I could connect to the show again...

I can't relate to Disha having those fun moments after behaving that way with Ram, yes, she was angry and dumped it on little Aaru, but where is the sadness, I don't see it, it is becoming easier for Ayaan to draw her out of her moodiness. The scene after Ram's sad departure, where Ayaan pleads and teases her to have icecream, I just couldn't relate to either Ayaan or Disha, yes Aaru needed that mood lift after being denied the meeting with his father and then his sister's (too frequent) scoldings. But Ayaan's priority should have been Ram, why didn't he spend time with Ram after the bail, to explain him about the status quo at Kapoor house, the truth about the custody, the alternative way to meet the kids, he did nothing of that sort, but rushed home to console his bade papa. Ayaan needs to prioritise and his client's welfare should be priority. I don't have any doubts on his intentions or commitment to the case, but his affection of AK is interfering with his commitment. Ram as his client deserves his complete loyalty, but here Ayaan's loyalty is divided. Not just professionally , even on humanitarian basis, Ram needs his support more and to an extent guidance too. Nothing wrong in Ayaan helping AK to bond with the kids, or even in doing things to make AK happy, But isn't ensuring Ram doesn't do something to screw up his bail (like coming to AK's house, or indulging in alcohol) more important? Where is Ayaan's focus? Yes, his mother stopped him from following Ram, but couldn't he call Ram and explain him his situation and also give him some hope?

I do want the kids to bond with their grandfather, AK does deserve a heart warming relationship with his grand kids, but the timing of Disha's mellow down making me uneasy. Just after she gets to know about AK's level of vengeance against Ram, she's melting.. Shouldn't AK's extreme vengeance on Ram put a roadblock on the budding comfort level between her & AK? But we see Disha getting more comfortable with AK, 'Nanuji' comes easily to her now. Looking back, I think her attitude towards AK changed remarkably after AK had that chat with her in the garden and justified his action of blocking Ram's growth.. Does that mean she is agreeing with her granddad that her father didn't deserve success for all his talent and hardwork? Even knowing about Ayaan being sent for doing jassosi on her, she is perfectly normal. Her & Ayaan's Nok Jhok in car is another scene I couldn't relate to, inspite of some very good acting. Probably all these interactions between Ayaan & Disha is to show the budding romance between them in future :(.

Maillka is being openly bitchy with the kids, I prefer this behabiour over sugar coated words in front and then backstabbing. Aaru is being consistent, he is affectionate with his Nanu, but clear that his dad is his family.

Ram. Ram, what are you doing by sitting and drinking in a bar.. He needs man up, and not breakdown at the first hurdle, I would like to see him show some backbone, vow to prove his innocence and win back his kids, instead he is drowning his sorrows in a bottle :(, the first time ever in the show, karan gave a sensible advice to Ram by suggesting to meet Aarav at school. This suggestion should have been given by Ayaan, never mind, atleast someone did a good job,

Btw, didn't Disha proclaim few days back that she is not attending college / school anymore? Why she is going to college again? Big blooper...

AK is one smart cookie, he knows Ram will try to meet Aarav at school, so he sent Ayaan as a bodyguard. Probably Ayaan is the only person who can dare enough to question AK on why Ram can't meet his kids. I remember mentioning this reasoning in one of my earlier comments, AK wants the kids as a means to win over Ram, Ram took his daughter away from him now he wants to take Ram's kids away from him. I don't doubt his love for the kids, but his primary focus is revenge, that's exactly what he said Ayaan, that he wants to defeat Ram. And he is scared that by meeting Ram, the kids will be swayed away by him.

Ram at school, Ayaan arranging to leave Aarav alone sothat Ram can meet him. A nice moment between Aarav and Ram, somehow Aarav's delight in meeting his father overshadowed Ram's happiness. That's the power of innocence.

Precap : Disha scolding Ayaan for leaving Aarav alone, rushes down to find him, Ram bidding bye to his son, leaving his phone number with Aarav. Disha stunned seeing something, I don't think she had seen her father, it is something else that shocks her. AK blaming Manav for some trouble at office, wonder what is the purpose of this track... Are they attempting to bring Ram and AK close?

Geetha, it's not that you are judgemental but perhaps your expectations from our Indian soaps is slightly unrealistic. DKB is so much better in terms of the the way they show things and later try and connect them to the story, the small but yet important facts are brought up in conversations /dialogues the characters have, the way they shoot scenes with the given logistics, the way all characters are given importance and somewhere they are justified in their behavior...yes, even the obstinate Disha (only that she's going overboard now)...but...

When the show started, there was pathos and people said that it was too sad. Then at a point the story got stuck but now the story is moving along. The makers need to blend in the elements of pathos and light heartedness...sometimes even to the extent of jarring as you say because in this story, funny and light heartedness cannot be slotted in naturally given the genre of story. But they anyway have such scenes to break the monotony...otherwise it's only anger and sadness that is left.

Sony shows are anyway at a disadvantage...guess they are trying to balance the different emotions to try and appeal to a more wider audience. Reporters is different and well taken and yet it hasn't struck the right TRP chord...whereas shows showing things that don't make sense or over the top stories become top shows.

Ayaan is young and is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. I take his behavior as the character's struggle between doing the right thing and trying to be faithful to the man who is his benefactor. If we look at it like a struggle the character is undergoing...We can connect to it. Means people who start off in their career end up doing mistakes which they may not as they grow more experienced and emotionally stronger. An older ayaan may not do the same mistake a younger ayaan is doing. And they have made ayaan's boss his voice of conscience...ayaan's boss has questioned his competence in doing justice to Ram in the face of his bade papa. It's not that they have ignored ayaan's behavior as the lawyer. Remember ayaan's boss also told him that he would take care of the post bail hearing formalities. No one obviously told Ram that Ayaan is hiding stuff from his bade papa!

Disha says lots of things which she needs a whack for hehe...I didn't take her dialogue to Suraj and wife seriously because she always talks about independence and self respect and taking care of Aarav herself. But am sure dear Nanaji would have insisted she goes to school! After all, he's a darling guy!!

Ram is drinking...remember he has to meet a certain someone in a bar! And a certain someone had also been brought in to add that extra spice to the show...blame our audience!

But somewhere Ram is someone who depended on Anu emotionally and Disha has broken him. He doesn't know about the letter...so for him, it seems like a dead end as far Disha's forgiveness is concerned. Not the way to go...getting drunk but I guess in his current state of hopelessness with Disha's behavior, I can understand the frustration. Guess they will show him stronger as time goes on.

Wonder which is stronger? AK's love for his grandchildren or his thirst for revenge! Ram took Anu away from him and now he has taken Ram's children away from him! Maybe AK loves Disha and Aarav but somewhere it is ruled by the desire for revenge too.

I am enjoying the episodes now. Our soaps cannot move away from certain set formulas no matter how much they try...because of the issue of ratings. But I feel DKB isn't too showy and they are trying to keep things simple. But even they cannot avoid the light hearted scenes and romance because they need to sell their product.

Not mentioning the name of the soap (since you know which one)...the things they show there and the mockery they make of emotions and relationships and the complete disregard for realism (taking creative liberty to absurd heights), DKB is in the preschool zone compared to that hehe... Dkb is simple and straight forward so it cannot run for too many years. Don't mind DKB ending after a run of even 6 months with the makers showing us the Ahujas rising up against the odds! Or is 4 months the standard for Sony soaps except a few? Well...6 months will be a good run!

Ram and AK. ...Geetha, would love to see that happen, just to see Manav's expressions!!!

I agree Suganthi, DKB is better in the way they almost always connect the little things they have shown with the the main story, but what they have in common with BT soaps, or anyother Indian soaps, is the failure in delving deep into emotions & situations. Most often the behaviour and feelings are just on the surface level, there don't go deep into multiple layers. in For eg, anyone in Disha's place would feel some sort of conflict in emotions, there should have been twinge of happiness when she first heard the news of Ram's bail, but it was never shown, either she doesn't have any conflict and she just purely hates her father or the makers are failing to capture the multitude of emotions. If it is the former, then again the makers are not doing justification to the character by making her one dimensional. Even in yesterday's episode, Disha is shown to be angry when she entered back the room after insulting Ram, fine, anger is understandable, but anyone else in her place ( a daughter who shared a special bond with her father) would also feel sadness for detoriatian of the relationship and also guilt for the way she treated their father. Mahima is one fine actress, I am sure she can portray different emotions from frame to frame, but the makers fail to think in various angles. Without maintaining the underlying the thread of connection between Ram and Disha, if they suddenly show Disha having a change of heart after reading a letter, it will look shallow, just like Pihu's change of heart looked in BALH.

Coming to Ayaan, I agree, he is young and inexperienced, doesn't really know how to handle the conflict of interest. But it is unrealistic of any junior lawyer to leave the job of briefing and tying the loose ends to senior, in real world it works the other way, the senior lawyer would only make the court appearance, the junior will run around to handle the minor details such as dealing with police, etc. In Ayaan's case too, the makers fail to show the deeper emotions, he is stopped by his mother from going after Ram, but he could have been shown to feel bad about not able to help Ram, and then decide to atleast make an effort to keep the kids happy and bring icecream to the kids. That kind of scene would have ensured smooth transition from the sad scene of Ram's departure to the fun scene of kids enjoying icecream, yes, a show need to have light hearted moments, but they should blend with the story, they shouldn't stand out like sore thumb, now the light hearted moments look forced.

Ram not informed of letter? I hope that isn't the case, the letter matter is known to Karan and Dr.bhattliwala, it would be unrealistic if Ram doesn't know the existence of letter.

Actually in the scene last week, Sooraj explicitly asked why she is at home instead of at college, and Disha said she discontinued her studies, yes, it is possible that AK convinced her to continue, but it should have been shown to the audience, now it is an obvious inconsistency in the storyline, in the first place the dialogue about discontinuation of studies was not at all required.

Yes, no doubt AK loves Disha and Aarav, but his thirst for revenge is overshadowing the love. The truthfulness of love will be known only if he could continue to love and martian contact with them even after they choose to go with Ram.

DKB is not showy, I am fine with that. But there is something lacking, which I am not able to pinpoint as I am not an expert in the TV world, the show can be made better even without adding the necessary commercial elements. I would prefer, DKB ending in 6 months time frame, that will be optional.

On a second thought, I wonder whether the AK - Manav scene is a precursor to Vidya Balan's appearance on the show.. Maybe AK arrange for some Bollywood party to counter any stupid business decisions made by Manav?

I very much doubt, the story can't take a leap with so many loose ends. Ram is out only on bail, he being still out on bail even after 6 months can't be the case. If there is a leap, it can be taken only after the murder trail gets completed and that can happen only after the elusive letter is found. All these cannot happen in couple of episodes,. I assume, the Vidya Balan episode would air this week.
