Trade sources have indicated that Karan Johar has registered the title 'Mr And Mrs Tapori' for his next film with Ranbir Kapoor. The filmmaker was in New York recently scripting for the film.

When we last checked with Karan, he had said that he was still working on the final casting. But indications are that Parineeti Chopra may play Mrs Tapori.

Kjo's movie Mr and mrs tapori got shelved Parineeti gave up piku for Kjo and Rk.

Looks like KJo made sure Parineeti wasn't competition to his baby Alia. So he killed her career. 😆

A film with oldie Bachchan and Irrfan doesn't look that good on paper. Nimrat didn't gain big offers after acting with Irrfan in The Lunchbox. Yami Gautam didn't get good offers after Shoojit Sarcar's Vicky Donor.

Compared to that, commercial films with Ranbir and Saif was good choice. A newbie needs more commercial hits to survive. Sadly, both didn't materialize. Deepika could afford a Piku or FF after other successful films.

It wasn't announced but lots of rumors floated around that they were doing a film together. No one involved ever refuted them either. The article is posted on pg2. I think, even KJo said that he was working on something else before he decided to make ADHM instead..and all Parineeti said about Piku was that she is doing a 'BIG' film and its dates will clash with Piku. This film with KJo-Ranbir basically got shelved and Karan wrote something else instead. Shoojit had anyways said that she would have to adjust to ABSr's dates. I think he later agreed to change dates based on DP's availability (b/c she's a bigger star) which is fine as that's how it works.

Truth is very few newcomers only 2-3 years old in the industry would have rejected a film with KJo-Ranbir for a film with Irrfan-ABSr...that requires special kind of guts. In fact, I doubt most top actresses would have too (at least last year).

She shouldn't have put all her eggs in an unconfirmed basket, but it is what it is. Bad luck IMHO.

Yet funnily enough his current cast is just comprises of people just coming off a disaster. 😆

I'm pretty sure it was because of the Saif film with Dinesh Vijan. She was already shooting Kill Dil when Piku was offered to her. Even if the Ranbir film was true, he wouldn't have had started till this year (he hasn't even started ADHM or Ayaan's film yet) so she would have had time for Piku. She was supposed to start the Saif film mid last year, but it got delayed because Saif wanted to finish Phantom and focus on Happy Endings release. After Happy Endings flopped, the film got shelved.

I guess for Parineeti doing a film with Saif was a big deal as she used to have a crush on him. She once said she would even be happy working as a tree in his film.

This was in June last year:

Confesses Parineeti, "I've been a Saif Ali Khan fan for years. He makes me go weak in the knees." Talking about the film, Parineeti says, "Yes, I'm doing a film with Saif. Even as I say it I find it hard to believe. It will be produced by Saif's production house Illuminati. What is most interesting is that Saif's partner Dinesh Vijan will turn director with the film starring Saif and me. Then this was in September:

She said, "My film with Saif Ali Khan is put on hold this year. The film was earlier scheduled to go sometime this year but now it has gone ahead because Saif is doing Reema's film first after Phantom. I have to finish Kill Dils promotions which will take almost the whole of November. This year we are not shooting this film, we will begin January onwards. Dinu is extremely busy with Happy Endings. All three of us were busy so we decided to finish our respective work and come back for this project."
