Randhir looked at me with surprise and I felt good. It felt really nice to be able to surprise him. I smiled up at him and wrapped my hand around his arm.
"You sure?" he asked me.
"Of course," I replied with a smile. "Let's go."
We walked together, my hand around his arm and we reached the bus stand. It was crowded, as everyone was going home from work.
"One day, we should get a car," I said to Randhir.
"I'm saving up," Randhir said to me and I smiled at him in delight.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah... don't tell mom or dad though. I don't know how long it will take, but I've started, and with some loans, we may be able to get it sooner," he explained.
I didn't understand loans, so I nearly zoned out, but our bus stopped in front of us, and there was a rush to get in. Randhir authoritatively took my hand in his and started to lead me towards the entrance.
We managed to make it on the bus, but we were pushed together. The seats were all filled and the bus was crammed. My back was literally pressed against Randhir. It felt weird, but I felt a little comforted knowing that it was Randhir behind me and nobody else.
The bus shook a bit, and I felt something hard against my back. I frowned. I hoped it wasn't what I thought it was. Then the bus stopped at our stop and people started to exit. As soon as I was able to get away from Randhir, I turned around to glare at him, as he was putting away his water bottle.
"I felt that!" I said to him. "That was disgusting Randhir... how could you even --?"
"Huh?" Randhir asked, looking at me shocked, then he grabbed my wrist and started to pull me out of the bus, so I didn't make a scene in the bus.
As soon as we stepped outside onto the street and started walking home side by side, I continued.
"You're gross," I said, making a face. "Disgusting. Just because I'm a girl."
"What are you even talking about Sanyukta?" Randhir asked me.
"As if you don't know," I accused. "I felt... I felt... that hard thing poking my back!"
I stopped on the road and turned to glare at him and he looked like he was on the verge of laughing.
"Sanyukta... that was a water bottle," he said, and proceeded to remove it from the bag to show it to me.
"What?" I asked with disbelief and started to walk again. "No way!"
"You're so innocent," he told me with a chuckle, as he followed me. "There's a difference in that and a water bottle. It would feel much different."
I frowned... if there was a difference between that and the hardness of a water bottle, then it wouldn't feel like water bottle would have felt. It could have been the water bottle. But I didn't like to be wrong.
"As if you have a lot of experience," I mumbled sourly, and we reached our home.
"If I say I do, will it make you feel better?" he asked me with a smile, and I stepped inside, my heart beating fast.
I didn't like it when he said that. The thought of him being with other girls didn't sit well with me for some reason.
I just glared at him because I didn't know how to respond.
