The episode left me with a lot of unanswered questions.. Probably there was only one discrepancy / confusion, but it resulted in too many questions... Before discussing about the questions, let's talk about the overall episode..

The story is now moving on the expected lines, today's episode is dedicated to showing how Disha & Aarav braving the life's bitter realities.. Highlight of the episode, the sibling bonding and Disha becoming a mother to Aarav.

Aarav is such a natural performer, and the way he seamlessly taking hints from his sister is just awesome, whether it was him hiding about Ram's call in yesterday's episode or lying about eating in today's episode, he has been such a support for Disha. it is expected of Disha to take care of her little brother even to the extent of foregoing her own meal, but Aarav identifying her ploy to make him eat the meagre meal and cutely making her to share the bread pieces, he was so adorable, and the scene was just so heart melting.

Disha is left to handle the aftermath of her parents' stupidity, she is struggling to manage the non existent finances. Disha trying to encash the FD, but failing to do as she is a minor, she blaming her father for all the issues (even in the precap she does the same), wishing her mother to come back alive as she handled everything so well. It is so painful and relatable, being a teenager & being left alone to fend herself & her brother, she can't really think clearly. It is unfair to blame everything on Ram, 3 months school fee not paid and 5 months rent not paid (as per precap), why why why... Did Anu stay in the hospital for 3/4 months before her death, it certainly didn't seem so, it was either a week or max two. Then why the fees and rent were not paid? If Anu handled everything so well as Disha saying, how did she let the fees & rent unpaid? In a middle class family like Ahujas where the lady of the house is educated and capable, it is typically she who manages the family budget and ensures that the bills are paid. But why didn't it happen here and why Disha is blaming it all on Ram? I think the financial mess is shown to make us feel more sad for the kids, trigger more anger from Disha's side on Ram and also to expedite their move-in with the Kapoors. And Disha blaming Ram is because of her age & mental state and also because it is easy for her to blame the father who had taken away their beloved mother and then abandoned them than the mother who had just passed away.. Will Disha realise how unfair she has been to her father anytime soon?

Kids running out of ingredients, the neighbours have been feeding the kids, and yes, it is somewhat realistic that the doctor's wife having a problem in continue feeding the kids, her words were hurtful, but that is the reality, even they are middle class, continue feeding 2 extra people is certainly an unwanted burden on them.

Ram gaining conscious to utter the kids names, and doctor keeping him sedated as he is still critical.

Now to the unserved questions / discrepancy.. Doctor's wife said they had been feeding the kids for more than 15 days, is it 15 days since Anu died? Does that mean Ram is lying unconscious for atleast 12 days? None of the neighbours in the last 15 days thought of taking to the kids abort the future plans? Isn't the murder investigating police inspector getting no clue about Ram for 15 days? Hadn't Mr. Kapoor have no concern about his grandkids for 15 days when he knows Ram is nowhere to be found, yes he is shown to be wanting to get the kids to his home in precap, but if 15 days have already passed, it is inhuman of him to have no botheration about the kids for so long.. Disha is hurt and in pain, but she is also a matured girl, and for15 days, she was just passing time with no money and accepting food from neighbours without thinking of what they are going to do for money? Yes, she tried to use the FD, but wouldn't it have been more sensible to use the FD as a collateral and borrow some money from the neighbours for her expenditure? It would make make some sense if she had atleast discussed about different options with one of the neighbours.. And most importantly GFN Karan, why is he not visiting the kids or not shown to be concerned about the whereabouts of Ram for so many days.. He seems to be a very suspicious character to me.. Could it be that Karan is jealous of Ram's music talent and hence doing everything purposely?

On the otherhand, is this 15 day count includes the days Anu spent at hospital as the neighbours were feeding the kids even then. If that is the explanation, it makes atleast some sense, otherwise, too many things doesn't add up,.

Precap: House-owner informing Disha about pending rent, Disha crying and blaming Ram, Nasik police deciding to check with headquarters about Ram (does that mean finally Mumbai police will get a clue on his location?) Mr. Kapoor asking an exasperated Manika to talk to the kids about living with them (at last he remembered his grandkids.. ). This Manika is going to be the biggest thorn in Disha's life for the next few months...

The siblings are indeed close and the bond a strong one. But as we have seen...it takes just one act (not taking Disha into confidence by Ram and Anu about the ending of one life) to make someone lose faith in someone else whom they have trusted and loved all their lives. So hopefully, this bond remains close.

Little Aarav is a rockstar. His strength lies in the way he behaves like a child and doesn't act older than his age. The way he takes cues from his sister and behaves accordingly is adorable. But somewhere in that little boy, the creatives have also shown a mature person in the way he realises his sister is cheating in their game so that he can have all the food. Disha, as usual, shines in her role. I watch this PH's other show Udaan (though not every episode) and realise that they pick really good child actors. And they manage to carry the show on in spite of no romance or conventional romance and they manage to get good trps. We have to see how DKBDHJ fares, especially given Sony's situation in the ratings department.

Disha is trying to cope the best she can and that is not easy, given that she is just a teenager. Blaming the father is realistic because as far as she is concerned...he told her he killed her mother and he's absconding too (Disha doesn't know about the accident, so as far as she is concerned...her father is MIA) Disha is blaming everything on her dad because that is how the mind works in such a situation...you find the person closest to you who you feel has lost your trust or not behaved the way you expect that person to and blame that person. She doesn't know all that has happened, all that has been discussed between her parents.

Okay, the time frame has not been clearly established I feel and so, it could have been 2 or 3 months since Anu was in the hospital or even much lesser time. There is nothing to tell us that this is or isn't the time frame. What I'm trying to say is...I think the makers have left it to us to assume the time frame. It makes sense to assume that Anu was in the hospital for a longer period because of the financial dues that they have to pay. Also, if we think...the previous treatment 2 years ago would have also drained them and they could have been still paying for it or just finished paying. I think some things are left for us to assume or to our imagination and also to make the children's plight look more pitiable. It also makes it easier for Mr Kapoor, the grandfather and father of the year! to force the children to come with him and stay at his house. As far as Disha is concerned...it's realistic to show her blame Ram and wish for her mother to come back. There's no way she is going to rationalise things at this stage.

The reality of life is...most people do not want unwanted burdens. They are justified in this day and age when costs are running high. But that doesn't mean you have the right to hurt people with your words...the good Doctor's wife needs some fine-tuning in her manners!
Loved the way the cvs have made Aarav worry about the smaller things (yet not really smaller) like how they were going to eat the next day and if the doctor uncle would bring them food. They have kept it real because given Aarav's age...these are the things he would worry about. But again, by asking his sister to promise she would never leave him, constantly asking about their dad...they also showed that maturity and insecurity in him.

Who is paying for Ram's treatment?! Wonder if the police will get to him? Our serial police show their efficiency in bits and at different intervals.

Yes, I think Ram has been lying unconscious for some days, because 15 days may include the day Anu died, police started their investigation, Ram fled with the ashes, Disha talking with Ram and Ram getting hit by the lorry. I think because Disha is matured...we forget that she is still a young girl. I don't think she at this point in her life is thinking so much ahead because there's so much tragedy that she has had to absorb. She's just trying to survive and take care of her brother. Hence going to school which is one such act which would normalise things a bit.

It would be unrealistic within 15 days for her to discuss options with neighbours or think of using the FD as collateral and borrow money. I don't think she would even know that one could do that. The only reason she knew that she could break the FD was because she remembered a conversation between her parents talking about it.

Mr Kapoor is an egoistic person and am sure he is still reeling from Disha's words to him. If he can throw his own daughter out of his life and not accept her back even after 18 years...who is Disha to him? I won't be surprised if Karan turns out to be the brother-in-law's co-conspirator against Ram. Neighbours not talking to the children about future plans...I'm sure they don't want to get involved that deeply. They are being kind by giving food...but talking about future plans means getting more deeply involved.

Manika and her family are going to be the thorns in Disha and Aarav's lives. On a lighter note...after watching BT shows and their time frames, any other show and it's time frame is unfazing!!
