Payal on Deceit and Deception
Lies and deceit, lies and deceit
Around me are the bad surroundings of lies and deceit
I can see the success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
But not getting out of this deception ki darmiyaan*
First it was just one lie, then two, but to the counting there is no end
My in-law is my enemy - they are not my friend
They think I don't know, or won't find out
But within a day of marriage I did so without a doubt
The things that are done determine my marital fate
What choices do I have now - it is rather too late!
Every member of my in-laws family has the disease of deceit and deception
Except my husband, who some how was saved from this infection
So Dev and I have to unite and fight
To do and protect what is proper and right
Just like the lotus that rises above and blooms with purity
We too have to reach high and rise above the trickery and knavery
(*darmiyaan is an Urdu word that means caught in between)
