Bolt in the house, Yo 🥳
I was indifferent towards him just for the same reason. He was too white, too perfect and just too passive. Thats not human, we could see the dysfunctional side of his personally. I cried about his growth and waited, waited...till he snapped and how.
It was building for years. The first scene was evident when he punched Manik. He believed a random newbie over his Dost for years, .
That time I was judgmental of his friendship but not today. One could see he was always looking for an out. But never had a reason to step out.
This relationship with Manik was becoming an albatross for both of them. They both were hiding stuff,l their feelings and compromising their own self.
Dhruv was affected when Nandini will talk only about Manik. He was upset when his buddy be troubling the girl he liked. There was always this resentment, he tried protesting against it. Twice. When he intentionally hit that spit filled cup or when he requested Manik to go easy on Nandini. It never worked, he felt slighted.
Yet he moved on. He was in a happy space because Alya distracted him , gave hi her sole attention. He became her star, her anchor and this boy who suffers from inferiority complex was reveling in her gushing. This stopped when reality hit him.
The girl who was out and open with his buddy was now shy of going public with him. He didn't listen to anything, ignored her reasoning because his own hurt superseded everything. Just everything reminded him how he was the second choice , the "back-up plan" that Manik has created over the years.
Even the girl was he crushed on preferred his Buddy even though he was her tormentor. So what was the use of being good? Being a back-up?
This with repeated incidents where everything he felt for Alya was in his head started measuring to her thing with Manik , he snapped. he couldn't take it anymore. Whichever emotions he touches right now, hiw life is full of Manik. it;s very selfish POV but the one he has been neglecting over the years.
A part of him has found courage to be assertive of his opinion. he doesn't care for emotions being hurt , he has his freedom of finally saying his opinions. he will err , regret and move on. But boy is finally making his own choices, decisions. There is no Manik stopping, guiding or protecting him.
This friendship was so unfair to them. Somewhere they just became each ther's ergo. Enabling each other, while aware of the disntictions between them.Good guy, Bad guy. It made their friendship a conditions apply thing.
It doesn't matter if Dhruv is being a dick or not. Manik's hold on their past is slipping and it;s only then he can mark Dhruv as an equal and ask him friend for a fair fight. That respect to be treated as an equal. Right or wrong doesn't matter. Just to be recognized by his best friend, not as a brother but as Dhruv is enough for this Topi Boy.
It's his revolt party, and his break from his own shackles.
Just by compering himself to their bullying victims , he showed mirror to fab5, ignoring how he conveniently washed his hands off but boy is airing his views.
This will be the start of their new and better friendship.
P.S - I am just having too much fun with Dhruv.
