See what I feel is MK is a thriller. So when such a thing is scripted you have to keep logic in mind than the symbolisms. Because a thriller always needs logical conclusions. No matter what. But the problem with the most Indian thrillers is that especially on TV is the fact that they dont want to show grey in protoganists. That's why I love mythology and then English fiction over contemporary Indian fiction. Smply because mythology has grey in it, but in trying to white wash characters Indian script writers dumb them down whereas the acceptance of grey can give solidarity to scripts such as that of MK.
Even in Harry Potter Dumbledore had a shade of grey, snape was grey, ron was grey, even Harry and Hermoine has grey about them and the story highlights those grey and it was those grey and weakness exposed in the leading man that made Harry Potter interesting.
But here instead of showing the grey in Shiva or Rudra they are showing this dumbing down to take the story forward. I mean Dadi-Shiva duel. yes Dadi had to realize, but the makers couldnt take the risk of a mother asking forgiveness to her son. They couldnt make her feel guilty of her ignorance. To avoid that they bumped her off and during last breath just made her realize.
Coming to Shiva they couldnt make him mouth the dialogues to Ganga that he understands her lvoe for the son, but he has other priority. They couldnt make him order his mom and wife to go away as there is risk. Because they wanted an adarsh beta, adarsh pati in Shiva. So irrespective of the knowledge he is shown dumb for this massacre to happen , whereas there could have been better logical ways if that adarsh beta tag was not needed.
Though I love MK and love to analyze it, I would prefer the shades of grey are shown and made more logical.
