Well, Arshi, you are spot on re: the total unpreparedness of the
rakshaks.
I have noted time and again in my posts that even Rao and Shivanand were taking things very leisurely, though the Mahakumbh was already well underway and they had (going by the official records of the Mahakumbh 2013) only 55 days in all to D-Day when the
amrit would emerge.
Even after Shivanand noted last week that if the
vish had come to the Mahakumbh, the
nagas too must have arrived, there was no attempt by him or Rao to try and assess the threat and plan countermeasures. When the DM says that suspicious strangers have been sighted, Shivanand barely reacts. And as for the "high alert", the less said the better!
Instead, Rao has now taken off to Delhi to, if I heard him right, which is tough at times, "do research into the
naga poison"!!! Have a heart, how much time does he think they have? 55 years instead of days?
Then again, what can one expect when more than half the rakshaks either do not know, or will not acknowledge either their
rakshak identity or their assigned role?
Daadi does not acknowledge any threat to her precious Panth and
seva bar Shivanand' 'sacrilegious
anusandhan", so all she can think of is a
yagya. But Shivanand knows the score, so why does he agree and go and land up at the Sangam like a sitting duck?
As for Rudra, he too does not want any part of the
rakshak dharma, and now he has a perfect excuse for avoiding it: the pressing need to carry on conversations with his comatose Maya. It was all so ridiculous, so much time spent looking at her fingers move; I wish the
nagas had stormed in there instead and given Master Rudra a dramatic wake up call!
As they did not do that, we have to have a pile of dead bodies to do the same job.
I never thought Utkarsh would stoop to this hoary cliche of Indian TV, The Coma.😡

Shivas lip sync was off with the chanting of mantras, but the mantras sounded fine to my unmusical ears.
The shadi I guess is done, while we may not have gotten to see every rasam, but that's just technicalities
The main rituals were over, family has blessed them and already treat her like kul vadhu, she has been carried over the threshold by her husband and so griha pravesh has been done!
As for mrityunjaya - that's the irony- while its time for action, they are busy with Yagya! The dharma for Rakshaks is in the battle.
Shiva knew of the nagas but he too did not foresee that things would come to such a state, miscalculation on his part?
The epsidoe last night highlighted one thing again and again - the complete disarray of the team Rakshak vis a vis the precise preparation of the nagas
