This is due to ONLY . I myself is a hardcore vegetarian.. But when it comes to Masterchef level competition.. Only veg can't help. Last year the kind of food prepared were of great level when compared to this year.. No offence on participants.. They are amazing it's their challenge level.

Tremendous innovation is possible in vegetarian, vegetarian food has so many varieties, but they re not explored in MCI

Oh, the last season was not the best either! Agreed that it was surely better than this season.

Last time it was "khatta meetha aur thoda tikha" and the judges wanted to put aam-chur powder in ever darn thing, like seriously? Can't they put kokam or something else tomake it khatta? and why does all dishes need to be khata in the first place? I still have nightmares about that! :p

And yes, there have been enough khandvis to last a lifetime! also there have been ghevar tasks a few times now

I am a vegetarian, too, and I agree with Seemanya that there are so many things that they can experiment with and show innovation. If the flavors and/or dishes seem repetitive, I would blame the MCI for not being more challenging or imaginative rather than the fact that the competition is about vegetarian food.

There's so much to explore in vegetarian food.

And if they thing meat is more experimental, there's always tempeh, seitan and soya!!

They can explore different cuisines. So far it's just been indian (there's actually many more than what we've seen) and Italian.

There is no variety this time and vegetarian is definitely not the issue
