What's the contribution of this President other than roaming around

Strange idea to make a documentary about the residing president (at least residing until July next year)...

Two thoughts immediately come into my mind:

Making this high-profile project celebrating a residing state icon, Aamir, the Muslim, wants to 'prove' (again) that he is not "anti-national" (still 'suffering' from entering the 'intolerance-debate' using his wife ... any collaboration with state machinery serves a political purpose, imo... it would be - again- a kind of using the Hindi filmindustry for own image 'cultivation' (from Aamir's side and BJP's side).

As the documentary is co-produced with Prasar Bharati (India’s state broadcaster), it can be used to 'mirror' a wished narrative (Madam President is member of the BJP), e.g. glorifying inclusive behaviour of the Modi government while distracting from the systemic issues faced by minorities on the ground (= celebrating a singular tribal woman at the top while ignoring that under the current political climate, tribal lands are being aggressively corporate-mined and indigenous activists face heavy state repression).

This news now makes me quite sceptic about the tone of the upcoming movie relative to the tone of the used play...
