Producers may lose Rs 200 crore if Salman Khan is found guilty

New Delhi: With the Arms Act case verdict deferred till March 3, Salman Khan has Rs 200 crore riding on his back with two films slated for release this year besides other signed projects.

The 49-year-old actor is currently in Gondal near Rajkot, Gujarat, for Sooraj Barjatya's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. His other film 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', being directed by 'Ek Tha Tiger' helmer Kabir Khan, has wrapped up shooting and is currently in post production stage for a mid-year release.

Bollywood trade analyst Komal Nahta said Salman has approximately Rs 150 crore riding on him for these two films alone, besides another Rs 50 crore for the projects that he has signed.

"If you take Rs 75 crore each for these two films, it comes to a total of Rs 150 crore. And then if you add another Rs 50 crore for the projects that he has signed, it comes to Rs 200 crore. There is some amount of tension but the actor has the option to further appeal his case," Nahta told PTI.

The Arms Act case against Salman is an offshoot of the Blackbuck poaching incident 16 years ago near Jodhpur. Salman was in the area to shoot for Barjatya's 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain' in 1998.

why will they lose money...parole pe parole pe parole...jab Sanju baba ko mil sakta hai...then why not Salman??

What a rubbish article. This is just the arms act case.

Even with the worse case scenario Sallu going to jail for his other case producers will never lose money. His movies might set a new record of 400 crores even if they aren't completed.
