welcome to Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitm (Dastaan) Discussion thread .Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam is a timeless love story set in 1940's. This show is a period drama set in Ludhiana of pre-divided Punjab.The drama revolves around the bittersweet love story about Bano and Hassan. Bano comes from a close-knit Muslim family living in Ludhiana in undivided India. The story follows Bano and her fianc, Hassan, as they face the trials and tribulations caused by the events beyond their control. It is a story of love, dreams, longing and a tussle between hope and reality.

First they had changed Dastaan's name to Lakerien, which was still appropriate, but this new title is totally inappropriate, coz the sitam can hardly be called haseen.

Agree wid you Di..!! 😆 And regarding the Sitam on Hassan-Bano! It was never Haseen..!! 😔 Lakeerein Was appropriate but yeh Itna vadda naam?? Hadd Hai..!! 😆

They are promoting it as sweet love story. "hasseen sitam" and all will give ppl the wrong idea abt the story. they might get a shock after few epis...😆

agree,they should not change the name,the original title Dastaan is the best.but I am happy that zindagi is airing it.dastaan id really special for me,because it is first ever Pakistani serial I had watched and found fawad khan and sanam baloach .

I wish Zindagi stops changing the names of serial 😕

Seriously Dastan is better than this new Waqt ne kiya kya haseen sitam (it is a beautiful song but it is not appropriate for this serial )...by the way it happens in Ekta Kapoor shows that Title of serial is name of a song but now zindagi is following the same trend...😔

Aree "Bano" hi title rakh dete..😛

The name is beautiful but not at all suited for a show like Dastaan
Wateva happened to bano and hassan was in no way Haseen :/

i hate this why again & again they r changing its beautiful title i m afraid dastaan show is mainly of 35 or 40 minutes i hope they didn't edit or cut the scenes it is of 23 episodes see aaj rang hai show is also of 37 -40 minutes and they r showing it for half an hour may be zindagi will double the no of episodes like if 23 episode serial they will telecast it as 46 episodes bcoz half an hour mein kaise dijhayenge ?

I love the changed name and goes with the story also . It was tragic one . Time played with the life of two beautiful people . And the reason for changing the name might be that people becomes eager to watch what happens next in YouTube or other sites . Just listen to the song from Kagaj Ke phool and somewhere lyrics goes with the storyline .

Does anyone think of a history of prolonged rape, torture and the loss of one's family as "haseen"? Cant understand these name choices made by Zindagi.

As for the idea of changing names to prevent people from watching shows on Youtube, I agree that Bano would have been an appropriate name and it would have maintained some uniqueness too. By naming shows after existing songs or poetry like DileNadaan, they create an impression of what to expect rather than letting people approach the show as a blank slate.
