No I see your point, I know where you're coming from and I agree with it as well. This is a complex matter and there will be two sides to it, for and against. I'm not against either side speaking up for their beliefs. That's not where I have an issue. My issue is, you can't insult someone directly and get away with it by saying it's my opinion and freedom of speech. Yes so? You'll bear the consequences of that. I think most people on this forum are just pissed at Russel's stupid ways of putting things across.

Considering the hate most bollywood celebs get on this forum for the most harmless statements, I think Russel is well deserving of the hate when he directly insults another actor and comes across as so obnoxious.

But I think the simplest reason I can put it is that by no means is Russel Peters some kind of hero who is advocating for freedom of speech and by no means are we regressive and against it.

Most of us here, from my understanding, are against him due to the other messed up things he said to Aamir. If his message for freedom of speech, it completely got lost in the the hateful and derogatory speech he gave afterwards. Especially got lost when he told Aamir to "mind his own business" 🥱

I shall conclude this rather interesting debate by saying. I'm all for freedom of speech and change in this world and keeping an open mind.

May art, in any form (movies, comedy, photography, dance) flourish and push boundaries. Maybe AIB have many valid points as to why they put up that act, and maybe Aamir and Nana Pategar have a few valid points as well. All celebs are dividied and for good reason to, since this is a gray area. No right or wrong answers here, just a debate.

That said...Russel Peters is an idiot and needs to STFU. No, not coz he doenst have the right to speak. But coz he's incapable of an intelligent opinion. Therefore, do the world a favor, and keep it to yourself. PLEASE 😆
