Udta Punjab All Set To Roll

Abhishek Chaubey has completed the final draft of his next film Udta Punjab and has signed four stars - Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh - to play the main leads. As we all know, the film is based on growing drug addiction among youth in Punjab.

A source close to the film adds, "We are working on the looks of the star cast and soon a look test of Shahid Kapoor will be held in Mumbai, which will soon be revealed to the media. The director along with his team leaves for Punjab this weekend to finalise locations and the shoot will start at the end of February."

Something On Jagga Jasoos

Disney India recently announced the release date of Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos as November 27. Earlier, they were looking for October 2. Reason: Ranbir Kapoor has allotted the director April-May dates and the director wants to shoot the film in one single schedule because, after that, Basu also has to look at the edit and music of the film.

PS: Imtiaz Ali and Ranbir Kapoor'sTamasha will now release in 2016 as the actor doesn't want to have back-to-back releases.

Jacqueline Fernandez's Next

After the success of Kick last year, it seems like Jacqueline Fernandez is going places as she has signed few biggies. The actress told us, "I am not jumping at every offer coming my way but, yes, there are lots of offers. As of now, Roy will be releasing and I am also shooting for Brothers with Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra. After that, I start Rohit Dhawan's next which is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. And in the meantime, I will also shoot with Remo D'Souza opposite Tiger Shroff. I am super-excited about this film as I will get to do lot of dancing."

Farzi Back On Track

After the debacle of Happy Ending, there were rumours that Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru's next Farzi with Eros International had been shelved. The film features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead and Raj Nidimoru clears the air, "Our film Farzi was initially to go on the floors at the end of 2014 but we were still working on the script. We recently finished the second draft and we still need two months before we go on the floors. By then, Shahid Kapoor will finish Udta Punjab, for which he has allotted three weeks. Eros is very much on board. In fact, from this month, Eros and our team have started working on the pre-production." The director also mentions that after Farzi, Go Goa Gone 2 will go on floors. Before that, they will release an uncut version of Go Goa Gone either on DVD or on the Internet.

Shraddha Kapoor Out!

After the success of last years'Heropanti, the hit director-actor duo, Sabbir Khan and Tiger Shroff, has announced their next film which is yet untitled. It is a romantic musical with an ample dose of action. But it seems the leading actress, Shraddha Kapoor, has opted out of the film due to date issue and the film needs a lot of prep before it goes on the floors. As a result, the makers are looking to cast a fresh face opposite Shroff. We hear the hunt is on. If we saw Shroff Jr doing some amazing action in Heropanti, this time he is being trained by an international fight master and the action will be at par with any Hollywood film.

Rakesh Roshan's Next

We had mentioned a few months ago in this column that Rakesh Roshan was to produce more and more movies. Here's one of them - he's all set to start a project for his production house which is still untitled and will be directed by Abhinay Deo.

The film features Irrfan, Aditi Rao Hyadri, Kunaal Roy Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Vijay Raaz. Shooting will commence from February 20 and this film will be shot in Mumbai and Lucknow.
