I did not FF it on hope that they may stop it somehow and show that there is still a human alive in them.

Dusri Biwi I think in the start she did say about how her mom went through🤔

@ Bold Na Bhavi, she didn't ! All she said was I've seen my mother live like a widow ! The second wife and already married man thing wasn't mentioned, not even once. Selective amnesia i guess !

As the qazi sahib said" never seen such a Nikah before"
U don't know what the scene was suppose to show but it truly showed Arzoo's desperation to enter this relation. She mocked herself infront of the entire audience of the wedding. Any self respecting person would have kept their personal affair...personal!!
Arzoo could have shown her hatred and taught a lesson to Sahir through so many other ways. This was indeed unnecessary and an all time low scene to behold :(

Wow, seems episode looked like torture for most 😆
Why be so surprised abt walk on coal as already knew this was going to happen !!
Does that mean I like such things, hell no !

In the beginning when they first showed Sahir's self-mutilation; it made sense to me. Self-injury is way to show how intense emotional pain is and that's just how it manifest.

But lately makers are using it as cheap manipulation tool for so called drama !

As far as trp issue, let's face it Indian tv soaps with sheer stupidity bring in numbers. Even with such crap Humsafar is still better show than others on tv ! But then why no trp, well there was not enough promotion. All I remember before show started were 2 promos. Well HC is the biggest attraction for audience and he was making come back so they should have had promos dominated by him but at least I haven't seen such promo 😕
Another matter, if they are starting a show with different concept wise that will attract very specific ppl then keep it like that. Instead of developing more with time why bring stupidity thinking oh this will bring trp, doesn't work like that !

Bhavi,
I was kind of shocked with so many negative responses or the nikah...that too from the positive thinkers...I may be wrong or right...or there is no wrong or right in these matters...

My perspective here..

Are our TRP janta that naive?

Is the IQ of the great country that produces most Doctors and Engineers in world so low that they have bear this nonsensical drama?😕 😕

OR IS it that the IQ of our creatives have dipped so low that there is nothing left for them to show the audience?

I am so glad and proud today that my daughters are not watching any Indian Shows.

To make things worst they had this add of some upcoming show going on and on the episode which said everything about this show (Can't remember exact wordings but it read something like dhoka, fareb, and all. It was on the left hand upper corner.)

Shweta can i request you to remove the picture please. Its giving me goosebumps every time i see it😒

Bhavi...my two cents!

I form a part of the TRP audience in the sense that I live in India and watch the show on TV. And I can tell you that I and many like me find the coal walk totally unnecessary...!

Also...I can say safely that most of the TRP audience would also cringe at this shoddily presented scene in a show that is drama...they would maybe watch it in a religious or mythological or documentary show showing such practices and their prevalence!

So it is definitely not done because the TRP audience or indeed the audience locally find it entertaining...no thought has been put into it..period!

There was no purpose served by showing a bride walk on coal in her wedding attire ...I don't get tbe purpose and neither do many others as is evident from the number of posts talking against it on the forum itself...many of them are again from those who are a part of the TRP audience...

Indian shows are becoming quite popular these days for a variety of reasons...some of them inexplicably...there must be something that pulls in the audience outside India as well...a lot of illogical things happen in them and the audience laughs it off but that's because they know better than to expect logic I guess! This particular sequence though would have been something very very few people watched without exclaiming at the sheer absurdity!

Very valid post Bhavi...

I thought they had sunk as low as they can in the way they had handled the after effects of that cab incident. (read - there had been no after effects at all) But this coal walking is a new level of low. No matter what reasoning they give after all this, it is still not going to gel.

Forget Arzoo and her characterisation... why should ANY woman be made to do something like that?? There is absolutely no justification. And TV is something everyone has. Its the fastest way to reach masses these days. What do they want to convey with that scene? What kind of a message are they passing on to the public??

Simply unimaginable that a woman is scripting all this. Does the lure of TRP make a person lose all reason and sense?

totally agree, i used to love this show and was excited for its potential and now everything has fallen apart.
what have they done to arzoo, at the start she was great, strong, with morals and principles and given her experience with her father i never thought she would fall in love so fast but that aside which fine ok, this whole forced marriage/contract thing and her agreeing to it, walking on coal is rubbish. she said there is no other way, but come on, there is, there always is, this isnt a life death situation where your on some cliff with only seconds to decided with literally no resources or other option. and how long did she stand on those coals, it took forever.
this whole thing makes me mad, they might as well make sahir a villian, i really dont feel sorry for him, he can wallow in his self pity and misery. like who does he think he is, saying you will marry me, do whatever you like but you will marry me. entitled much, i hate the fact he has no consideration at all, like she is property, i hate how his character is butchered, he crossed a line big time with the egg ordeal and all of this, i dont care what his agenda is there isnt a excuse. and arzoo ending up agreeing to it makes me wanna do a head desk. to be honest sahir is the type of guy girls are warned about like i said before. honestly they made zaki the one to support her, make her laugh, have proper convos, all of which i would expect the ML and FL to do together, instead we get the opposite. like what kind of guys are portrayed as the romantic hero. its beyond me.

indeed this show is regressive like is it really that hard to show something more modern and have a good love story whilst not making the FL terrible in representation for women and not making the ML well abusive and so forth. is it that hard to avoid contract/forced marriages, guys hurting the FL so badly and being entitled and making the FL weak and taking all of it, being a mahan, being so self sacrificing that you want to cringe and not care anymore about her. these guys are supposed to be writers and directors and its always the same drama.

i mean yeah forced marriages/contract marraiges happen, often where the girl has no choice, so why cant they for once show, a girl not break and bending down and accepting this fate, why not show her fighting back, and not being helpless to her situation and finding another way, why not show her not compromising everything she is, her morals. because all i saw in the ep was the opposite, it felt so helpless like most forced marriage like this seem to be on every other show. why cant they show something more empowering like i mentioned for all those people watching, all those girls watching showing how they have a choice and they can fight back and showing everyone else how they dont have a right to put a girl in that situation and sending out a clear message without it really being forced. arzoos character is falling apart and its saud to see and its been a gradual decline

i wish the writers and directors would think outside the box
