Their eyes met.

She could not tell who closed the distance between them first, but they were now standing next to each other. Very close.

Flowers were dropped on them as they clutched each other.

She saw the smile on his lips as he approached her further and further and further...

She could not see his eyes clearly at this much closeness. She was not sure if he was still there.

She lifted her eyes and wanted to say something, but before she could say anything their lips met.

She could not tell who lifted the curtain between them first, but who cared?

She smiled even in her dream.

Sakshi came to the office with an intoxicated smile this time.

We thought she was going to tell us what it was. Soon.

But no, she was silent.

She was smiling to herself sometimes and dreams started floating in her eyes sometimes.

We waited.

'Even for a mere kiss, you've to come closer and to a... how would he come that closer?'

'He did come in the dream!'

'He is coming in the dream daily. But how come in real?'

./> ...

But I (Shree) had a hunch that this time she saw something that could give this adrenaline pumping sensation. I suspected it was Arjun.

What was nagging actually was why she was not out with it to us.

Days passed and she was becoming normal.

./> ...

'No way, it was after all a mere dream.'

'Where, hah,' she sighed desperately, "When would he come near me and-

Her thoughts creased then ceased at one point.

She was serious again and was thinking meticulously something, I could see.

I started worrying now that it was definitely about me this time.

And whenever I tried to talk to her she denied my thought too quickly every time. My suspicion started getting a neat shape at last.

That day (No, not the incident day, some other day), we chased a suspect (Trapping) and nabbed him at last.

Suddenly his lawyer appeared and insisted that his client was a heart patient, so we had to admit him in a hospital where he could be in rest and if and when his doctor acknowledged we could interrogate him.

He showed the papers and the hospital.

Arjun and Ayesha went in to talk to the doctor and if they got a chance to talk to the patient as well.

We stood in the corridor outside the ward and waited.

Chottu was saying, "If we had a five more minutes with him in the questioning room, we could have got what we wanted."

I nodded and looked the closed glass doors of the ward.

My nerves started jumping themselves all of a sudden as I saw Arjun was angrily coming toward us.

And when his fingers touched the door knob, I had started running away from there, unknowingly.

I was running in the corridors as though I was chased by a ghost close by. I did not have time for the gasping mouths and enquiring eyes.

After a minute Chottu's mobile rang.

He took it and talked to me.

I was still breathless, when I said, "Chottu, tell him I came to check the air in the tires."

He laughed and said, "I thought you were going for getting an appointment from the dentist?"

"Oh, I've already got it on my way here, while running," I replied sincerely.

"I think you've to cancel it. The doctor called him in again and it seems they are going to talk to the suspect soon."

I sighed in relief.

"Uff... thank God!"

On that day of the incident, everything went smoothly till that evening.

Sakshi got permission to go early, to visit her friend.

Arjun had to arrive from the court.

On his way from the court, he stopped by to see the lawyer whose office was in the second Gandhiji Road.

He came out of that office and thought to go in to the hotel nearby for a hot tea. But when he saw that a man snatched a chain from the woman who was standing near the hotel.

The thief started running in the opposite direction of Arjun's parked car.

He decided fast and ran behind him.

Vinu was alone in the house when Sakshi entered the compound.

Sakshi was informed that Vinu's mother was out and would be back soon.

Vinu was packing her stuffs for the journey. Sakshi helped her with the certificates.

When she reached the cupboard she asked, "Vinu, whose glasses are these?" she touched the sunglasses placed near a golden pouch.

"Saki, Don't," Vinu warned her, "Don't touch anything in that cupboard. It's mom's. If you move a thing she would find out and misplacing a thing is out of the question. Just don't touch a thing there. Come here. If you want, see my cupboard and do whatever you want."

"Hah, what's in yours that I don't know about?"

Sakshi shrugged and sat on the edge of the cot.

Once finished packing the dresses and certificates, Vinu went to the kitchen [Along with Sakshi!] to prepare coffee for her.

Time leaked slowly and suddenly Vinu remembered that she had not yet got the dress she had given to dry-wash.

She put her slippers on and turned to Sakshi.

"I know I can't touch anything. You go happily and come soon."

Sakshi smiled at her reassuringly.

"Right, it won't take long, Sakshi. It's just in the next street."

Sakshi came in and thought what she would do while her friend was out.

She started roaming around the house and when she saw the plants in the garden through a window, she remembered that Vinu's mother would worship in the evenings.

She would take bath and sat before the statue of Luxmi for a long time doing the pooja in silence.

Sakshi took a plastic bowl from the kitchen and went to the garden that was inside the compound.

A Close Up-:-

Once got that he could not run forever and particularly the man behind was threatening often that at any moment he would clutch his back collar, he decided to hide somewhere.

To his surprise he saw an open gate in that very street he was running and entered in.

When Arjun touched the gates he saw that the thief went straight inside and closed the main door of the house from inside.

The thief entered in and found the front door was ajar. He had not much time to think.

Arjun ran to the door and shook the door knob in haste; that was when he heard a voice behind him.

"May I know what you are doing here?" she motioned toward the door.

He turned and saw Sakshi with a bowl of flowers standing there and was enquiring him.

"And you?" he asked in return.

"This is my friend's house and nobody is home-"She filled him in.

"Right. What about the back door?"

She smiled then.

"It's closed from inside," she shrugged.

"Very well. How to go to upstairs?"

She started enjoying this convo.

"By steps," she suppressed a smile.

"God, where are these steps?"

"Inside the..."

But he was not standing there to hear the rest.

He ran down the portico steps, turned and looked up the first floor.

As he had suspected that fellow was there in the balcony.

Mr. Thief ran inside the house and once closed the door behind; he moved to check the back door.

Good!

It was securely bolted from inside.

He ran the steps and reached the first floor. He could say nobody was home that would confront him at this critical time.

God, why he did not try this house first before snatching the chain?

He shook his head and took a measure for an escape.

He saw that there was no way but to descend through the pipes if he wanted to escape.

But unfortunately the man below had seen him in the balcony.

He had no way except to take a plant pot arranged on the balcony wall.

Sakshi ran behind Arjun seeing his tension and dashed against him as he suddenly turned.

But before she could realize the impact Arjun took his gun out.

Once saw the gun the thief dropped the pot on him.

Arjun aimed the gun.

He saw that Sakshi was coming and the man was dropping the pot.

She ran into him which was unnoticed by both of them.

He pulled her to him and ducked down with her.

The bowl in her hand flew in the air in the fuss.

They fell down.

Sakshi reached him and before she could realize an impact occurred, the bowl was gone from her hand.

She fell down with him. She lifted her head to see what the idea was.

The fellow dropped the pot and saw that Arjun had moved away.

The pot hit the floor and shattered.

-..

She felt the flowers falling on them. She thought the reality was sweeter than the dream.

She heard the shattering sound and lifted her head. Her eyes bulged out as she saw the broken pot. Her dreams were gone.

'What the devil!

Arjun managed to extend the gun again and he lifted his gun toward the thief.

The bowl which went skyward now returned and fell on the extended gun as a hat.

-..

The fellow saw that Arjun was still holding the gun and he took another pot from the row.

He aimed the pot again.

-..

Sakshi pushed Arjun away and tried to reach the broken pot.

"Oh- My-God!" she exclaimed.

"Sakshi!"

Arjun clutched her tight, but still she tried to extend a hand toward the pot, "Arjun leave me!"

Arjun shook the bowl from the gun's head and tried to aim again as Sakshi was hiding the view.

The bowl fell on her head, but she was in no mood for that simple damage.

"Sorry," he muttered.

-..

Arjun saw that the man had taken another pot in his hand.

He forgot the gun then.

He pulled Sakshi vigorously toward him and started rolling.

-..

The pot fell on the previous pot and broke.

The man saw that Arjun had again escaped the onset.

He took the third one.

-..

It was as though they were in a duet and bombs were exploding in the background.

She was pulled and now they were rolling on the lawn.

Sakshi had drifted in to her dream.

'Anything can happen, if it's to happen.'

-..

The rolling stopped. They ended as Arjun on his side and Sakshi was lying beside him. Her head was rested on his right arm.

Arjun opened his eyes, but could not see anything through the web of her hair, which had fallen all over his face.

He was struggling with the tresses of her hair.

The man took another (3^rd) and saw that the gun was no longer in the fellow's hand, who was rolling now with the girl.

He dropped that pot too, but as he changed his mind at the last moment, his force was a bit less and it fell a few feet from the previous pots.

He started climbing down a pipe, before Arjun could get up.

-..

Sakshi opened her eyes and saw the man on the balcony with a pot in hand.

She turned her head toward Arjun and started scratching his chest vigorously to indicate him the emergency.

-..

Arjun successfully removed the hair locks from over his eyes and opened them.

Sakshi was shaking his chest; he turned to see her. What makes her digging his chest with the shirt?

-..

As she got that he was not responding she called him, "Arju-"

He turned, "Humm-"

Their lips brushed slightly.

-..

Before anyone could know the electricity, the pot fell down and turned to see.

The power was stopped short, but her mind was freaking out hard, 'NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR!...'

The pot fell on the tip of the gun and the gun jumped from the floor in slow motion.

-..

The fellow had reached half the distance down from the balcony to the ground in a moment.

-..

Arjun saw this as his gun leapt and was coming toward him. He lifted his left hand and caught it.

He got hold of the gun and aimed.

-..

There was no drilling from Sakshi, let alone a movement.

She was still trying to reel the moment again, the stroke of the lips...

Her eyes displayed a flying gun and the next moment it was in Arjun's hand.

He aimed, but she was observing nothing.

Arjun shot the thief in his ankle and the fellow came down fast.

-..

The shot brought her back to reality as it shook their bodies.

She saw the bullet hit the man's leg.

-..

The man fell down heavily and had already been drifted into unconsciousness.

-..

Vinu entered in through the open gate and ceased in her tracks as she saw the broken pots.

'What?-'

-..

Arjun lowered the gun and turned toSakshi.

He raised an eyebrow as though to ask, How is it?'

Sakshi lifted her head and reached him.

She kissed his cheek and giggled.

-..

Vinu looked the lawn and saw that her friend was kissing a man, leisurely lying on the grass with a gun.

-..

As Arjun smiled in return, Sakshi hid her face in the crook of his neck.

-..

Vinu stood there rooted to the ground hearing Sakshi's giggling. She was definitely not ready for yet another shock as her eyes fell on the unconscious body near the entrance.

Arjun took his mobile, still with that smile on.

-..

Vinu had nearly lost her mind as the man started talking in his phone, with Sakshi digging herself into him.

He dialed.

"Care ambulance service here!"

"I think I can use your service here!"

Vinu surely got a heart attack..

Even I got a heart attack...
