The after-effects of The accidental KISS;
No matter how much Manik tried to convince him and Dhruv that he would prefer the punch over the kiss anytime. But whatever he felt that moment has shock his entire being. He did deny it every second, till the moment he was close to her again. Because whenever that happened, he consciously or unconsciously bend down, everytime, to close the distance between them. He has been tempted so many times. And day by day, he came close to give in.
The temptation...
Now that I think of, maybe he actually would have prefered punch over kiss that time, because he knew what to expect from it. He accepted the fury he felt when she punched him over the unexpected craving he felt when her lips brushed his.
After that something has changed between them, from Manik's side. He became more obsessive, possessive and what not...
Manik craved her attention, to be her priority. He even did go out of his way to make sure he has all her attention on him. He didn't like whenever a "No" was said by her. Still doesn't. From Goa trip for her Chacha & Chachi to coming her home to pick her up...He has done it all.
When he saw her with Rishabh, he felt connected to her. There was after all something that was common between him and his commoner. He sit with her and talked about Dhruv with her. Because he has found someone who could understand what he felt. Someone who felt the same helplessness he felt. He was not alone anymore. No matter how much it was uncomfortable for him to talk about Dhruv with her, he still did. He never talked about it before, with no one. Because No one understood what was talking about, what he felt. But she did. The connection that he felt with her was something he has never felt before. He saw her in a new light, in the same way Nandini did, when she saw him with Dhruv...
He even, consoled her, in his own way...
"Smile...I said smile."
That was the start of the era when Nandini was not just an experiment or an obsession for Manik.
After "freeing" her, he still was not done with her. Whatever he wanted to know was still a mystery to him. He didn't like it when he wasn't her priority. He didn't like her when he didn't have all her attention on him. He didn't like the way Dhruv looked at her. He didn't like the way Nandini and Dhruv talked. He didn't like Dhruv anywhere Nandini.
When Dhruv had that attacked, that was the only time when he wanted her to stay away from Dhruv because he was protecting Dhruv. After that every time he told her to stay away from Dhruv, he said it because he didn't like the way he felt when he saw them standing together or talking to each other or passing each other smiles.
When she was drowning, he wanted to be the one who saved her. He didn't like that it was Dhruv. for Manik, only he has the rights to hurt her and save her. Only he has the right to make her trip and hold her to break her fall.
"Toh zabardasti hi karronga na. Wese bhi, jab acche se baat karta hoon toh you don't react. You only talk to me when I scare you..."

"Main ne dekha hai tumhe Dhruv ke saath baat karte hue. Tum toh ek dam normaly baat, normaly thori, smile kar kar ke baat kar rahi thi. But when I tell you to smile, that time tumhe pata nahi kia ho jata hai."
Manik, a person possessive, obsessive, impulsive person by nature. An extremist. Whatever he does, feels, think is to the extreme. Black or white. One of the reason why he think he is all bad and Dhruv all good. But Nandini especially has the ability to take his extremism to seventh sky, making him feel all those deep, crazy feelings.
He has always been possessive over Nandini Be it hate, revenge, hurt or anything else what has pushed him to follow Nandini around., He was the one who has always been the one who has claimed her before anyone else could. That is what makes him think he has every right on her.
"Tum torture karo toh theek hai, koi aur kare toh problem. Why? Because they aren't Manik Malhotra?"
He tells her to stay away from him. But he is the one who can't stay away from her. He doesn't wanted her to know that he thinks of what she tells him. But he is always ready to make sure she thinks about him.
Manik Malhotra changed so much after that everyone felt it. He didn't want to...He didn't want to admit it. But it happened...He or anyone else couldn't stop it. The feelings that Nandini was evoking in him were changing him...Day by day, second after second...
