Sony TV’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain has been one of the most popular shows on Indian television. Fans have widely appreciated the chemistry between Shivangi Joshi and Harshad Chopda, but despite the love, reports suggest that the show did not receive the proper promotion, which negatively impacted its performance.

Now, news has confirmed that the show is set to go off-air. The cast is expected to wrap up the shoot on September 2, marking the end of its journey. Actor Ribbhu Mehra, who played the character of Nikhil, spoke about his experience and the sudden decision to end the show.

His re-entry after a six-month absence brought a fresh twist to the story, creating a love triangle that added spice to the narrative. Speaking about it, Ribbhu shared, “I always knew that Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Naya Season was a finite show. After my character was introduced, the story picked up pace and the TRPs increased as well. Things were going really well, so it came as a surprise to me that the channel decided to pull the plug. I received so many messages from fans asking why the show was not given an extension.”

The actor also highlighted that viewers truly connected with the storyline and many even trended the show online. Fans tagged the channel requesting an extension, but unfortunately, the decision did not go in their favor. “It was a short yet beautiful journey, and I really enjoyed shooting with the entire team. Shivangi Joshi and Harshad Chopda are fabulous actors, and the directors were wonderful to work with. I definitely feel the show deserved more time, but sometimes things are not in our hands,” he added.

While the end of the show is bittersweet, Ribbhu Mehra is already looking forward to his next projects. He revealed that he is in talks with multiple production houses and platforms. “I am already in discussions for other shows on Star Plus and Zee TV. Apart from that, I am also exploring more verticals, including micro-series. Talks are also on with Zee5 and Amazon for digital projects. If something exciting comes my way, I am definitely open to it. At the end of the day, everything depends on destiny. Good things happen with blessings, and even Bade Achhe Lagte Hain came to me unexpectedly, without any prior planning,” he shared.

As Bade Achhe Lagte Hain prepares to bid farewell, the cast and crew leave behind fond memories, and fans continue to cherish the story that made its mark, even if for a short while.
