Bollywood movies are often blamed for wrong objectification of women. However, desi girl Priyanka Chopra defends herself in an interview to Hindustan Times by saying, "I have not come across a song which I have done, which I feel has been insulting to me. But I do try and play parts which are of strong women. I want India to see that women are not just pretty little objects."
She further added, "As an actor, you don't only get those kinds of parts, you get other parts as well. However, with me it has not happened that I have felt objectified."
Pee Cee is known for her songs like Babli and Pinky. She said, "I believe that there is a fine line between objectifying a woman and appreciating her beauty. We come from the land of Kama Sutra, which appreciates beauty, yet there is no objectification. We can be careful about equating a woman to objects which are consumable ... it is a fine line which every individual can follow."
