It is uncomfortable enough to begin with the harsh fact that vikram was absolutely, irrevocably in love with a woman who was actually a figment of imagination of his love-feverish mind, it was his imagination that made her beautiful,loving and worth dying. That girl merely didnot exist, she like her name was fake, her care and cuteness a mere show,her commitment to the relationship was eyewash...why else a girl would use a fictitious name if she was not sure from the very beginning that the involvement is merely a passtime activity. It was a boost to her confidence that she could make someone at her beck and call, she had supreme power to kill somesome with her rejection and revive him with a single smile and yet remain completely dispassionate ... infact the psychopath Sharika has today, showed itz early symptoms then also; only difference : she is a maestro now, she was a novice then, thankfully. Nehi toh sayed vikram ko bhi abhay ka naseeb mil jaate !
It is extreme grace of God ( ekta maaji here) that vikram didnot come face to face with his past love even after so many hits and misses...even after years of sunbleach,the soil of his heart was still moist, it could still be moulded according to the witch's desire with a few shower of crocodile tears, vulnerable situations and clever manipulations. It was probably because of naani's nonstop fervent prayers to god to save her grandson from ruin,that despite vikram's morbid curiosity to find out why the voice of sardha's daughter sounded oddly familiar ...ultimately God decided to intervene and stopped the inevitable disaster. He has other better plans,moreover !
Did u guys notice how shobha and then vikram too following her wake, checked the surrounding before starting their conversations ...giving the appearance of a clandestine meeting although they were saying most ordinary things on earth. Whenever they meet its their gestures, their body languages,t he smiles and spark in the eyes do the actual conversation while the sentences they mouth becomes formality.VIkram didnot say that he came here inspite of his fear and hatred towards the city, sobha didnot say that she was feeing unprotected and vulnerable without vikram's constant assurance, they didnot say to each other how much they missed that calming presence behind their back...because those were simply not necessary to be spoken aloud...the happiness of seeing each other brimmed from the eyes and seeped into the heart like hairs intertwining to make a beautiful braid. So instead they relished the sudden opportunity with small talks, clever jokes,shared smiles, fuss over one's small cut and appreciation of big hearted ness.
The comfort level between them had grown so up, vikram hardly registered that shova was too worried upon a trivial cut,he had got so much used to sobha's taking care of him that instead of becoming self-conscious he teased her saying haldi is not an instant pain reliever ( although i wonder why they didnot apply ice first !!),shobha could now unhesitating inform him that nani told her the reason of his grudges against the city and her worries for him and vikram instead of exploding merely sulked being treated like a small child, and waved away her ardent admiration to his golden heart quipping she had to be a cardiologist to know that...they had nothing to hide from each other, nothing to be ashamed of or angry with...and infact they are open to infinite possibilities. It is so non-cliched again that here the woman initializes the first move unknowingly, by asking the man on a coffee date and demanding promise to give his life a second chance in love...and the man, well, was too happy to oblige her.
Ending with another unpleasant observation.
I cannot help noticing the pattern, because it is shown deliberately so many times...itz often vikram remains standing with his line half said, when someone either slams the door upon his face or pulls Shova away from him citing an emergency.he does not get to finish the words. Is that a premonition in future when vikram would open his heart for her, he never would get the chance to finish...shova will be pulled away by the whirlwind of circumstances ?? I shudder even to think of it !
