Bigg Boss: Salman Khan, a human being who is Being Human'!
Throughout my journey in the house, I realised that he is not just a CELEBRITY that people tag him as but rather he is a great Human Being! And I'm thankful to know him as a person for whatever little time that I was a part of the show.
After my stint in the Bigg Boss house two years ago, I directly met Salman Khan on season 8 on the same sets and it was like deja vumoment. I was extremely nervous but not coz of any other reason but because of his persona.
I don't think there could have been a better host than him in the history of the show, or else how would you justify his consistency in hosting Bigg Boss for 5 yrs in row starting from season 4.
Every one has a lot of expectations from the SUPER STAR, but by the end of the day, he is human too... He can't make everyone happy all the time. Moreso he surely has a mind of his own just like we all do. If we expect our opinions to be respected, so should his.
Let's not forget one thing that Salman is the "Host" of the show, which makes him a "PART" of the show not the owner or maker of it. He too very rightfully is doing his JOB... and brilliantly well I must say!
He is there to entertain the audiences not bore them. We watch 5 full days of the Bigg Boss show without him and at times get thoroughly BORED. After all, for how long can one watch such high level of aggression and tension? And with Salman Khan coming on the weekends, it is only obvious for him to lighten the mood and situations in a "HUMOROUS" way or any manner he sees fit.
Every contestant can joke. Even viewers are allowed to say joke and what they feel. So WHY CAN'T SALMAN KHAN??? Yeh to wahi baat hui... hum karein to raas leela, Salman kare to character dheela. And he's absolutely right when he says that if you can joke about others then you must learn to take it upon yourself too. If you can't, then zip your mouth.
We've all heard the saying since childhood "IF U POINT A FINGER ON SOMEONE THEN REMEMBER THE REST 3 FINGERS ARE POINTING BACK AT YOU." To elaborate it further the Hindi saying is "KEECHAD MAIN PATTHAR PHEKOGE TOH KUCH CHEETEIN TUM PAR BHI UDENGE."
But it's not just about him joking; it's about him calling 'a spade a spade'!!! When he sees some wrong being done he surely addresses it. But why do we expect him to become a strict school teacher and start whipping everyone?? Don't we see enough of these contestants whipping each other out?
Salman Khan is a brand and just the way you expect him to be dignified and talk to everyone with dignity then why abuse him when he does??? And that too in his OWN manner?? Just coz it doesn't match your 'thinking' or 'mannerism'???? Now that's being rather unfair! Why do we never see his humble side?? Why do we NOT appreciate when he puts the contestants in their place??
Also let me enlighten you from my personal experience that the elimination episode is shot for over a span of 3 hours where every aspect is spoken about. But because viewers cannot be shown the 3 hours, we are shown the one-hour edited version of all the important topics and conversations, which have been highlighted during the week.
I think I have said enough and it is impossible to sum up Salman Khan in less than a thousand words and over a blog; but I tried my best to put forth my point of view in the space available.
In the end I'd like to say, the difference is that he expects NOTHING from us but we expect EVERYTHING from him and that too as per our convenience! Why???
