Hellooo all!! I'm hoping against hope that Abhi has a master plan, and so I have been hoping to get my version of it in this story out for a few days! The CVs keep pre-empting me and I wanna beat them at their game 😡! But of course I won't 😳. Nonetheless here's me hurrying to put this up before the ME; hope to write the rest soon, let me know what you think 😛

Abhi Mehra was mad.
In both senses of the word, which he would himself admit.
First the insanity sense - yes, he was currently executing a crazy plan which involved alienating his nearest and dearest, made him look deranged, and quite possibly exposed him to legal action. He had many pieces at play in a dangerous game and it would not be inaccurate to call him a self-righteous manipulator with delusions of godhood. It would also not be incorrect to call him cruel and selfish almost to the point of psychopathy.
Abhi wouldn't argue with any of that, because he knew he had one rock solid reason for his seeming insanity.
And that was his anger.
Abhi Mehra was a man betrayed.
His girlfriend was trying to destroy his wife.
His sister was destroying herself.
His once best friend couldn't tell him the truth.
His wife let him believe lies about her.
And his Daadi had fallen ill exactly when he needed her most.
Well, he knew he couldn't blame Daadi. But it still hurt that she wasn't with him at the moment.
Probably if she'd been awake, he wouldn't have concocted his outrageous plan. It would have hurt her to watch him set up his big tamasha, so probably a quieter, more sensible solution would have been found.
But Daadi was not a factor at the present moment, so Abhi was doing things his way. And he had confidence that she would ultimately be pleased and proud at the end results, and that was what really counted.
A cascading domino of truths had knocked Abhi's world off balance in the space of a single afternoon. Just as he was brooding over Pragya's sudden decision to ask for a divorce - could she really want to leave him for that double battery? really? - and while he was recovering from a hangover, he had been ambushed by a series of unlikely saviours bearing life-altering truths.
First there was his nephew Bunty, who had come to him complaining that something was wrong with the toy car Abhi had given him for his birthday. Abhi had been tempted to send the boy away because he was in no mood to deal with such a petty problem, but then he remembered that the boy's father was in jail and a flash of empathetic heartache made him pay attention to Bunty's demands.
Abhi examined the car and was unimpressed to see that it was dented and scratched, but Bunty swore he hadn't been responsible for that. He claimed that Robin had found the toy somewhere in the house in that condition and returned it to him.
Abhi fiddled with the car further and saw that it included a micro SD card for some reason. He guessed that maybe there was some kind of chip error or software conflict. This was more Aakash's area of expertise than his own, so he kept the memory card and the car and told Bunty he'd give it back later.
When Bunty left, Abhi was about to set aside the toy, but on a whim he decided to check out the contents of the SD card. At least attempting some technical problem-solving would get his mind off his dramatic and pathetic personal problems.
Abhi was surprised to find video files on the memory card. He hadn't known the toy car had video capabilities - it had been sent to him by a sponsor and he hadn't noticed much about it before giving it to Bunty. He saw that there were three files, and the first two were only a few minutes long, so he opened them.
The first clip just showed Bunty and his sister Babli at haphazard angles, exploring the toy's video function and taping silly, excited messages for a short time. The second clip didn't have sound at first and just showed the choppy motion of someone walking through the mansion, and Abhi was about close it after the first thirty seconds, but then he heard Mithali Bhabhi's voice.
It sounded as if she were talking to herself, and only snatches of her monologue were clearly recorded because she seemed to be holding the car in a way that partially blocked the microphone. But enough of her venomous words came through that Abhi's heart froze as he heard what she had been saying that day.
Finally I'll be safe...Pragya gone I'll...no one can prove that I tricked Raj..somehow will get him out...good thing Aaliya is so smart...good plan...going to be funny...that Tanu too...hope Suresh comes as promised, who does he think he is to protest so much...too bad I'll miss Abhi's concert...
The last moments of the video afforded an unpleasant glimpse of Mithali's smirking face as she placed the car near Abhi's bed, apparently intending for Suresh to trip on it.
With his heart hammering and his mind awhirl, Abhi clicked open the third video, which was almost ten minutes long.
The clip started with an odd jerking motion and a sharp-angled view of Suresh falling forward onto Abhi's bed. Abhi's memory supplied him with the corresponding moment from that awful MMS, where it looked like Suresh had been leaning over Pragya, initiating an amorous embrace. The footage from the toy car clearly showed the same moment, but seemed to be telling an entirely different story.
Abhi watched the rest of the video in horrified fascination. The first few minutes offered no interesting visual footage, but there was crystal clear audio of Suresh and Pragya's conversation as they tried to sort themselves out in the sudden darkness. Then the lights returned and Suresh moved the car the ottoman at the foot of the bed, and Abhi had an amazing view of Pragya's sweetly dopey face as she watched his concert and admitted her love for him to her teasing best friend.
The video concluded with a few minutes of Pragya sitting alone after Suresh apparently left. She was massaging her leg and smiling at the tv, and Abhi's heart started to ache for her as he realized just how much pain he had put her through over the last few days with his completely unfair overreaction to the MMS.
After the toy car's footage ended, Abhi sat back in shock and tried to think over what it all meant. Someone had filmed and edited that MMS to suggest awful things that had never even been close to happening. Far from defiling Abhi's bed with Abhi's wife, Suresh had just been trying to help, and Pragya had been literally in pain - apparently from falling down the stairs! God, how had she managed to walk around after that? Abhi remembered that she'd had a bit of a limp when he'd returned from the concert that night, but in his black mood he had ascribed it to utterly disgusting, now obviously untrue reasons...
The fact that Mithali had strategically placed the car there strongly suggested that this was her plan. But Abhi knew his cousin's wife really wasn't that clever, and with a sinking heart he put together Mithali's ramblings about Aaliya and Tanu and started to suspect that the conspiracy was worse than he could ever have dreamed.
As he was still trying to sort out the implications, his phone rang, heralding the arrival of a second source of truth. It was the police inspector handling the marriage hall case, and he had new evidence to discuss with Abhi.
Abhi listened and grew numb as the inspector explained about the corrupt corporator who had been caught in part due to the MMS Pragya had filmed - MMS! Pragya! - and how Raj's signature had been taken under false pretenses. They weren't quite able to let Raj out yet as there were formalities to be conducted, but the inspector wanted Abhi to come down to the station with his lawyer to get more information and finalize the matter.
Abhi agreed to come after a few hours. He needed to find his lawyer, and of course clear his mind. To learn now that not only was Pragya innocent of adultery, but she'd actually been instrumental in releasing him from jail...well, suffice to say that Abhi didn't think he could handle many more shocks that day.
But bhagya was not done with him yet, and just as he was about to contact his lawyer, he received an urgent email from Aakash. Attached was an invoice for a rush guitar repair - signed by Pragya, for the night of his concert.
Here was yet more proof of Pragya's faithful commitment to him - an expression of her love even. Abhi felt a surge of gratefulness as he thought of his guitar baby's seemingly miraculous recovery, but that was quickly swamped by guilt for never even thinking that Pragya deserved credit for it. Also, now he had to wonder who had so savagely attacked his favourite instrument in the first place...and he didn't like the possibilities his mind suggested.
As Abhi hurried to get his lawyer to meet with him at the police station, his mind started to stir with the vague beginnings of a need to set his world to rights. He didn't have a plan yet, and there were a few pieces of truth as yet unknown to him, but suddenly and spectacularly, the stage was set for a reckoning...and Abhi would be sure to pull it off with a bang, rockstar-style.

Abhi's multi-pronged plan had many goals. Or more accurately, it was meant to satisfy many desires.
He wanted to punish Suresh.
He wanted to teach Aaliya a lesson.
He wanted to expose Mithali.
He wanted to be free of Tanu.
He wanted Purab back.
He wanted to redeem himself.
And he wanted to hear Pragya speak the truth of her heart.
