@Anu you are forgetting the fact that Durga never wanted to be considered bahu or bhabi. Even without being bhabi she would have done what she did to save Kangana from a marriage to the rapist. The people concerned gave her the titles. Suchitra accepted her bahu and Kangana accepted her bhabi.

Even now Durga is planning to walk out of the marriage only post her mission is done with no attachements.

Yes a heroine in tellyworld never does what she did. One having a fake marriage for a mission with plans to walk out of it the moment it is done.

She has not accepted any relation. She has not given any promise to Suchitra she will be by Dev's side always. She didn't even accept the shares which was given to Goenka bahu.

We need to understand that Durga as a character wants to ensure what happened to her sister should not happen to anyone else. Whether it is domestic violence, cheating in name of marriage or marriage for the rapists. She couldn't save her sister but when she has the power to save someone else she is utilizing it. Saving someone does not diminish her love for Payal.

Don't say she enjoyed 2 years in US. Plastic surgery is painful and it takes multiple therapies and multiple surgeries to reconstruct the face the way it is. Atleast one year would have taken Nithya to get completely cured and walk on her own. Her accident was said to be major so def there would have been more damages apart from the destroyed face.

Then she was learning this transformation. Moving from one identity to another. From Nithya to Durga in every way. Walk, talk, dressing it was a total make over.

First thing she did was after coming was to take Payal from that rehab only. Only then her mission started. So please don't tell she doesn't care for Payal just because she cared for Kangana.

Durga could have recovered in India and sent Dayal to look for Payal. The flashback showed her well and healthy. So it means she was normal enough to walk!😲

I buy NO EXCUSE for her 2 WHOLE YEARS NEGLECT of Payal. Those years when she was doing whatever in comfort of Dayal's house and poor Payal was being tortured daily!😲

The rape, the aftermath were preventable if not for a sister like Nitya and shamefully weak parents like Mitras. #FACT

Your priority is your plans and blah blah or to look for your sister? 😲

I do not buy that Durga does not want other girls to suffer whereas she time and time again let Payal suffer, who she uses as an excuse for her pilaaans.

It is a sham to promptly save others but be lax with security of your own tortured sister! Hypocrisy.

Baad mein dhyaan karne se kya faayda? Payal should have been urgent priority. What's this "she first came to her only AFTER returning from US AFTER 2 WHOLE YEARS?"

There is NO understanding for Durga to excuse or rationalise her neglect of Payal, her failure to secure her yet play crusader for others. Apni behen sambhalti nahi, chali yeh doosre ki behen ko bachane! That too a girl who is unharmed and is willingly in a relationship, plus has many to protect her.

This doesn't make Durga great but a hypocrite.

I know Payal will be brought in end for a final photo op with this lady who will then suddenly remember to hug her and say I am your didi. And Dayal will say, look what we did for you. Though they just threw money at caretakers, left her alone, played around with her.

It is the makers' fault to reduce cause of victim and sideline her to focus on even non entities like Kangana. A reason for the failure of this show too as it no longer had higher cause.

@Anu they didn't show the timeframe of Nithya's recovery. Only that Nithya recovered. Makers should have shown how much time it took her for to recover.

And yes she could have come back as Nithya and reopened the case that would have been the best option if she had to take care of Payal completely. But she didn't had the trust in the system that failed her. But when she came with a different identity the whole scenario changed. Protection of her identity became important. Because if her identity is exposed Goenka's will not only take her down but will also take Payal back to asylum. Without Nithya Payal will be in asylum only if not killed by Goenka's

Nithya did a huge mistake of slapping Shaurya and understand that the emotional guilt is also huge. Not a second Nithya can live in peace unless all the criminals are punished one way or other. She is the cause for her sister's condition is what keeps her going even while people are trying to pull her down. Under estimating the emotional pain of Nithya to get justice for Payal is not right.

Ok stopping here as we both have different views on this matter. So we can amicably agree to disagree.

It was told that Payal was confined and tortured in mental asylum for 2 years. This means Durga had not returned these years.

She need not have implemented plans at once or done identity drama if she was not ready. Bht she did habe resources and backing to immediately come and rescue Payal! Where did Goenkas figure in that?

But this lady and her dayal benefactor did not do so. Their own plans and blah blah mattered nore to them.

Nitya's emotional pain is nothing compared to what Payal suffered, emotionally, socially, physically and sexually. Payal was even robbed of her ability to think and feel. A poor young girl lying like a vegetable is worst than a glam girl, masterminding plans, flirting with boys and carrying guilt.

I cannot belittle Payal's suffering to prop up Durga. Payal is still lying alone in hospital with few to sometimes visit her. Whereas Durga is having happy reunions with others and taking compliments. What left to say?

I know it's a stalemate. But I cannot accept calling Dev or Durga biggest sufferers.

@Anu I never said Dev and Durga are biggest sufferers. I never said that. Payal is the biggest sufferer in the whole game. The entire suffering is for her only. I only said her suffering made Nithya/Durga and Dev do certain things which otherwise they wouldn't have done. They both had the ability to overhaul a system rooted in corruption but they would have never realized that ability if not for Payal and what happened to her.

The brutality of what happened to her made Nithya what she is. A woman filled with hatred and wanting to bring down the evil trio.

And since Nithya moved into such a mode Dev had no option if he wanted his love the only way was to bring the criminals to the book, doesn't matter what he has to do for that.

So I never told Dev and Durga to be selfless people, they are gray and they have shades of selfishness for them. Durga wants to come out of her guilty conscious and that is her biggest push to drive her plans. And that guilty conscious is what makes her plan the destruction before taking care of her sister. In a way she is unable to meet Payal as she herself feels responsible for all the cause.

She is not the biggest sufferer, but she is a sufferer too as guilty conscious is quite heavy to carry especially it involves rape of your loved one which you yourself was indirectly responsible for.

Dev well I have not treated him a sufferer at all. He only has guilty conscious as 2 years absence have never ever be completely explained by CVs at all.

It is more like Panchali and Pandavas in MB. Panchali was the sufferer. I would say worst. Husband keeping her as a property in the infamous hall of dice, dragged and humiliated in the court it was her one question and untied hair demanding revenge that changed the course of the story.

Still Pandavas were not fighting, she was molested again in jungle by Jayadratha. But Pandavas let him go because he was their BIL.

She was again molested by Keechaka and only him they killed. Also peace was always talked forgetting how much she was humiliated in that infamous hall of dice. She suffered at multiple levels and when the war happened it was actually for the kingdom not for her honour, though it was said multiple times Panchali's honour and all the discredit of the war went to her as she was the one who wanted it.

Yes she wanted justice, to avenge her insult but she had never taught what it will turn out to be.

In a twisted way EHT is like MB where the sufferer is someone who has suffered because of someone else's mistake but then the whole war happens for something else altogether, though along with that the criminals who did rape to her will be punished.

Arjun is the hero of MB ably supported by Krishna whereas the same Arjun was standing mute in infamous hall of dice when his wife was dragged and insulted. He was the one who let go of his BIL too irrespective of him trying to again molest his wife

Same is the case of EHT Nithya is the heroine ably supported by Dayal/Dev though it was her slap that resulted in whole fiasco.
