THE BELOW IS MY OPINION. IT IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND OR UPSET ANYONE
I am sorry to say that Sumeet Mittal have done exactly what they said they did not do - let audience change how they wanted to tell the story. If that was not the case then the story should have ended at the end of the Singapore track. The story they wanted to show was about second chances/moving on but instead they ended the show in the worst possible way.
IMHO in the end Paakhi was shown to be selfish self-centered woman for whom nothing and no one mattered just Ansuman.
So what the message - that a woman can play with people's lives, their feelings, sentiments with complete disregard. It is this type of behavior that creates disrespect for women.
She was lucky that Veer is a gentleman who would not ever force himself where he is not wanted. Otherwise the consequences could have been dire.
I am not saying this because Paakhi rejected Veer. As he himself said not every love story has a happy ending, Veer is a strong person who knows and understands himself (his strengths and his weaknesses) very well. His feelings for Paakhi are in their infancy but he knows the depths his feelings reach for the ones he loves and he does not want to go their again when there is no hope of those feelings being returned. So he choose to walk away.
But because Paakhi, who is mature woman in her mid 20s not some teenager has:
- deprived Aayan of having the man he loves and respects, who is half father figure half friend in his life.
- shown that marriage and commitment means nothing to her.
- tied Veer to her and her responsibilities for at least the next 15 years. To be there for Aayan and run the Rathod business until Aayan is old enough to take over. Is that fair on him? How many woman would enter into a relationship with a man no matter great with that kind of baggage?
- dashed Jiji's (his mother's) hope of him living a normal life and having his own family. How would she feel if one day a woman uses and casts aside Aayan the way she has Veer.
I am sorry but Amer Prem kahanis are not made like this.
