How many male character oriented cinemas are/ have been made in Marathi? Like the ones made for Amitabh, SRK, Salman?? Of course there have been none of their likes in Marathi. I am not defending Ajinkya, but if I remember correctly, in KTG he was specifically asked a question about the pressure of being in Jr. Bachchan's shoes, being the son of a famous celebrity couple. He just went overboard with the question 😆. I think by the time he came into the movies, his parent's era was long over and there should have been no reason of him being compared to his father. Marathi cinema is seeing off beat movies over the past couple of years but prior to that there were waves that gave trade mill cinemas. Dada Kondke, Lakshya, Ashok Saraf kind of comedy movie waves and on the other hand tortured women movies by Asha Kale or lavani pradhan cinemas. Ranjana was perhaps the only heroine who did a wide variety of roles in the 80s, opposite every young male actor, even opposite a very young Nana Patekar, I was so zapped to see Nana's courage in that movie 😲. As someone has said, men in Marathi industry rarely tried to maintain themselves, else Ravindra Mahajani and Vikram Gokhale could have been the iconic heroes, at least romantic ones. Sorry, no comments on Siddharth Jadhav, Makrand Anaspur, Bharat Jadhav etc., I never can endure any of their cinemas.
Shivaji Satam's son Abhijeet is similar to Ajinkya Deo but handsomer and so is Ravindra Mahajani's son -Gashmeer. Both are not as successful as cinema actors, but are very active on stage, mostly direction. Gashmeer, I don't think ventured into Marathi cinema at all, although he seems to have done marathi nataks, and is not as handsome as his father (IMHO, perhaps he's handsomer for the current generation😉) but his abs...ufff....look at his current FB profile pict . He seems to be a dance trainer as well.
Surprisingly, no one likes Abhijeet Khandkekar, Subodh Bhave, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Bhushan Pradhan??
