Tpam. you are just reacting too emotionally to a simple thing. Boys are much better, more focused and hardworking than girls in India because they are sole breadearners of their families. If say eg Abhishek goes out, one entire family will suffer.
On the other hand eg Deepaly wouldnt care if she goes out because she knows that great looking NRI guys (docs & engineers etc) are lining after her home for marriage proposals.

having a female president does not say much but the stand of women in society! Even if US has not had a woman president - the common American women enjoys many more freedoms than an Indian without being scorned upon. If you need proof please refer back to your comments on Deepali.
