Revealed: The story of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan

When the Baadshah of Bollywood decides to sign a film, the film ought to be the centre of attention, with fans constantly speculating about what Shah Rukh Khan has to offer this time. When a few months ago, Yash Raj Films decided to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan after the success of their last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, a lot of news about the film started doing the rounds.

Now that this film titled Fan has already gone on floors, despite the secrecy that the makers have been trying to maintain around the film, Bollywood Hungama exclusively reveals to you the storyline of the film.

For all Shah Rukh Khan fans, Fan will be a treat with the actor playing a twin role. While one would be a reigning superstar, the other role would be a lookalike. However, the film will have elements of humour and a series of incidents with mistaken identities and a comedy of errors is what follows. Knowing the dedication that Shah Rukh Khan works with for his films, the actor has already got involved in preparing for both the roles by trying out different avatars and recee for the film.

While the opening shot of the film will give a glimpse of both Shah Rukh Khans, the shot would be about the superstar celebrating his birthday outside his palatial residence Mannat and on the other hand, the other Shah Rukh Khan who portrays the role of Rahul will be seen watching the superstar in awe.

In order to maintain the authenticity, we hear that about 700 people will be present in the premises for the shot, representing the glamorous way Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his birthday every year. However, what is surprising is the fact that this shot will not be taken at Mannat which is located at suburban Mumbai overlooking the beautiful sea. In fact the makers have decided against shooting at Mannat owing to security reasons. Often, Shah Rukh Khan's residence is flocked with many fans trying to catch a glimpse of the star and sometimes, the situation turns chaotic. In order to avoid such issues, a replica of the same is said to have been constructed at Film City Studio in Mumbai.

Though we are aware of the role Shah Rukh Khan would be playing, the name of the leading lady for the film is yet to be announced. From Sonam Kapoor to Parineeti Chopra, many names are being tossed around. However, last we heard that the two lucky ladies, who will be paired with the two Shah Rukh Khans, will be Ileana D'Cruz and Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Fan is slated to release on August 14, 2015.
