Oh my gosh! After such a long time a Desi soap has actually made me cry! This show really tugs at the heartstrings :( and my heart goes out to Neha.

I don't blame her family for carrying on with their lives while she was in a coma. I don't even blame them for getting Akku engaged to Aman. Difficult times can really test even the most solid of families, and Neha's family is no different. They are all human after all. And it isn't Neha alone that has to adjust to new things. It must be hard on the family as well. But I don't think they understand just how much it is eating up Neha from within.

She has woken up to a new world. And it was not by choice. Neha could not help her coma. And now she is left with no choice but to accept new changes in her life...changes that she never had a say in. Past couple of episodes have been very significant of Neha's state of mind. The first incident that comes to mind is the sari scene. Akku took what Neha had chosen for herself, which was quite symbolic. And her comment that she always wanted what Neha had might be a prelude to future events.

The second incident was when Neha and Akku were joking around with their brother. He teased Akku about her sasural and referred to Hitler Dadi - something that Neha associates with her. And then Aman was mentioned and her face dropped. She stopped joining in and watched her brother and sister having a good time. Once again we see Neha withdrawing, taking a step back and looking at how the dynamics of every relationship have changed.

Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho. Kya ghum hai jisko chupa rahe ho. So apt for Neha.

Haha thank you for liking my post before I posted anything here and sorry for taking so long to comment 😳
On to your topic, I don't think there's anything to blame the family for here. They love Neha so much that, in all honestly, they haven't really moved on from her. Yes they've grown and matured, yet they've thought about her so much it's like she was always there with them. I really love the way her family has been portrayed so far, and I can't wait for her to strengthen the relationships in her family even more 😃

But at the same time, you're right, the family doesn't understand how hard it is for her. It's weird, because I think in some sense, her family wants to make it so that no time has passed at all. It's as if they miss the times they lost with Neha due to Neha's being in a coma, and they want to go back to those happier times when she was with them, 12 years ago. And, of course, they also want to make it easier for her to transition back into the world.

They don't realize that the world, and they, have changed in so many ways, and that Neha's pain is inevitable She's bound to experience the frustration of feeling 14 when she's 26 biologically, and of not being at the same place in life as her family. She's going to feel her family has moved on without her, because they had the chance to grow that she didn't, and they have the 12 years that she can never get back.

This is no one's fault, but it's a sad situation for all involved. Don't be too upset though because Neha will find her (and her family's) happiness! She finds happiness, and she will get it. She's just too pure and sweet not to. ❤️

Superb post!
Yes, after a long time we are getting to see a show dealing with a situation some families are faced with and it has been handled well too without losing the entertainment factor needed to keep the viewer's interest.

A smile...and behind it the emotional turmoil of lost moments and grappling with the present and also accepting it with grace...is the main attraction of this show!

Loved your views put forward beautifully.

I completely agree with you.
Imagine waking up & realising how everyone has moved on but you are still stuck at where you were 12 years ago. It is heartbreaking! And to add to that, Neha has lost so much - its not just about Aman, or the secrets that they've kept her away from. Most importantly, is time - time to spend with family, time to grow up. People make fun of her, think of her as mentally challenged, but no one understands that you can't grow up overnight. You need to experience new things, emotions etc that help in your growth. The situations happening in the family right now are the perfect catalyst for that. Neha is growing up, or more aptly she has definitely grown (whether the family notices or not). The way she smiled in everyone's happiness without letting them know of her pain, the way she did not think twice & just went to converse with her brother, these are all signs of maturity which Neha displays.

Despite all of these situations, Neha has not forgotten how to smile & that is a beautiful message. It is that very simplicity & honesty that draws everyone to her, including Aman <3

Smriti, Anuj & the rest of the cast are just PERFECT in their roles. Special credit to Smriti who not only breathes life into Neha, but even to the whole show.

Sorry for the rant. LOL.

Thank you :)

I agree. The hardships seen by the family have been handled well, and at the same time the entertainment factor is still there. There is that balance.

@bold: well said. It is indeed the main attraction of ISK. And this is precisely why the audience in general is warming to this story.

You're right. Neha has lost a lot. And it isn't just Aman. It is time and time as we all know, is awfully precious.

Neha has matured indeed. Others may not see it but we as the audience can. The biggest proof of that is the way she is keeping herself together. She isn't allowing her pain to be visible in front of her family. She is hiding it for their happiness.

@bold: Oh yes...everyone's doing complete justice to their respective roles. But a special mention for Smriti toh banta hai!
