In fact I started watching SC only because of SLB. His movies are actually paintings with emotions and actions. I am hundred 100% sure that SLB would have created history in INdian soap with SC had he continued, as he does not look like someone who goes for TRP business and definitely does not accept crap.
Your right about SLB and his stories. They are epic. I cried at the end of Devdas, HDDCS and Guzarish. But each had its own logic and the way it ended was the right way. My favourite scene in Devdas is the one you mentioned, when SRK helps to carry Paro's doli away.
"Humesha tumko chaha" was such a beautiful and tragic song. My favourite line from that song is;
"Woh daag tumne mujko diya
Uss daag se mera chehera khila, rakungi isko nishani banakar
Mathe pe isko hamesha sajakar"
It's been years since I watched that movie, but to this day, the emotions evoked by it remain with me! THAT is the measure of a true artist. How they strike your emotions and make a connect that lasts forever! SLB has that. Happy ending or not, the journey he takes you on, is worth going on!
