The two Bhatts, Mahesh and Vikram, were not on talking terms for a long time. However, after Mahesh Bhatt announced the sequel to Vikram Bhatt's 2002 super hit Raaz with Mohit Suri as the director, Vikram, the original director, too has a period horror up his sleeves. The film, titled 1920, is the first to be made under the banner of Vikram's production company, ASA Films.

Vikram Bhatt asserts that his film, 1920, is nothing close to Raaz and the only common aspect is the supernatural bit. He says, "As far as I am concerned my film is completely different from Raaz. My film has a different name, different setting and it has a different subject altogether. I don't carry the responsibility of bettering Raaz as the sequel is being directed by Mohit Suri and I wish him all the best. The only thing that is common between Raaz and 1920 is that they both are supernatural

thrillers. I have been writing this script from the last eight months and it is very close to my heart. The script which is better than Raaz.1920 is a very ambitious project and this is the first film that I will be directing under my banner ASA Films with my friend Surendra Sharma."

Speaking about the film Vikram says, "It is a ghost story set in the 1920s. The film travels right through to Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Missouri and I have almost finalised the cast. They are all newcomers but I will announce it soon. Adnan Sami will be giving music for the film. I have not shot for over eight months now and I am dying to get behind the camera. We will be putting up huge sets showing Mumbai and Delhi of 1920s and I guess that will be very challenging." The film will commence in August end.
