I can see why some didn't think much of the short film. It was a common concept and there wasn't anything unique about the plot. But for me at least, the simplicity of the story is what had me enjoying it. I agree it was filmy and a bit cheesy and nothing that great...but I think what highlighted the story were the characters of Aahana and Ranvir. Anyway as far as a telefilm goes...it was well done in my opinion regardless of the simplicity of the plot itself...a cute rom-com.
Actually, I don't think marriage or commitment was portrayed wrongly in this film at all. Making a commitment is a big step definitely...and I agree one should think carefully before making that step...but how often does that kind of careful thinking end up being more or less a conversation to convince yourself this is the right decision...may be the arguments are weak or won't seem logical to an outsider but to the person involved a lot plays into it...you tend to over think or think about others and what they'll think etc...I think the idea here was more realistic...at least from where I'm sitting. Maybe because I've been witness to situations very similar to this one..being unsure...
I completely agree with you especially with regards to the way urban relationships were shown in a realistic fashion...I've come across way too many real life examples of this sort so to me those modern day/urban relationship problems, issues of trust, confusion were well presented in this film within the confines of the rom-com space...that much filminess was bound to come in but I thought it was cute enough.
And I also agree that Aahana and Ranveer's characters were the highlight of the story on which it ran...MR's magnetism onscreen just enhanced the whole thing but I feel Auritra did a good job of her bubbly character without being artificial about it.
