Re: the love story in Shaadi Vaadi...actually for a short film format, they did a REALLY good job of building the bond...and uske baad the actors themselves...both MR and Auritra did such a good job of making it BELIEVABLE how they grow close...the text exchanges ofcourse were a big part of it and then the way Aahana would spontaneously hug him and his reaction to that...the way he was smiling looking at her pics on the phone...and most of all the way he was watching her at the sangeet spoke VOLUMES...so to me, the love story was built up quite well...no complaints from my end.

I just hope MR wanting to act more doesnt mean nightmares like Saraswatichandra. 😆If not I am fine.

His voice...just on the phone...that was enough.

Man, it seems like I'm the odd one out. I thought the movie/telefilm/whatever they call it was mediocre and unremarkable...the actress was cringe-worthy and the other actors weren't much better either. The script and ending made me roll my eyes up to high heavens...typical, cliched, and predictable. I was almost rooting for it to surprise me and pull off a twist like a just friends ending or something. Anything but the dramatic confession se shaadi rokna & mandap se bhaag jaana. Was it short and sweet? Yeah, sure...but only something to be appreciated with very low expectations which I guess all viewers of TV or film may currently be experiencing. If that's what it was catering to...and not trying to be a masterpiece anyways...good effort!

BUT all of that insignificant chatter apart, can we just talk about MR for a second and WHY and HOW this man exists as a goldmine of talent, charm, and presence. Man, MR...your talent deserves so much. The depth of emotional capability that he possesses and can express given just 10 seconds. They didn't even have to flesh anything out, they didn't have to dwell on it at all...but when he's sitting with the girl on her bed and they're talking about his dad...that's vintage MR showing you the substance and intensity of emotion that he can hit through silences and the smallest gestures given a blink. Quite honestly one of the finest actors I've come across, his talent is timeless, organic and effortless. For me, he was the anchor of this film...all the class. Worth watching and enjoying just for his presence after so long...still killing it!

LOL and that's just it, Fatty...it was not trying to be a masterpiece from any angle...it was a simple rom-com so it followed the usual rom-com formula...but I didn't think it was done in a super contrived way either...and really you must be off the grid totally if you haven't seen any of the crap that abounds on TV these days...bet you didn't even watch a bit of Encounter for MR😛...uske comparison mein toh this movie was a masterpiece only😆

Worth watching and enjoying just for his presence after so long...still killing it! WORD to everything you said here...I knew you'd mention that scene with him talking about his father...yes he was brilliant there...the only scene where he honestly shared his baggage and he brought so much nuance to the character in such a brief window of time...a few other bits I loved...notice his eyes in the bit when his father is telling him why he's packing him off to the U.S...for doing lukkhagiri and drugs with his friends...I marveled in that moment at his ability to bring about the boyish mannerisms at an earlier point in Ranveer's life...and then later in the end when he reconciles with his father and just simply says, "I'm glad I did too"...even there just in a simple line he brought nuance...that is the talent that still holds me in awe.

The sad thing though is that chances like this movie are rare...waise toh he says yes to crap like Saraswatichandra and god knows what kind of weird movies...so us sab ke comparison mein I'm THANKFUL he did THIS movie even if you find it cheesy/contrived/mediocre crap😆

WORD Kabeera, thank you for expressing so well what i felt for the short film. It lacked substance, extremely flimsy. Has marriage, commitment come to such lows, a few text messages here n there you quit, you are back when gifted a million dollar diamond ??? thats crap
But Mishy baba was Bang on, he can light up any insignificant screen storyline with his screen presence, almost ignored the flaws of the movie with his mesmerising presence,
a sheer waste of talent only positive thing is its proven beyond doubt of his ability to floor you with just his smile, even a smirk would do 😉

Hadh hai yaar😆

Is everyone forgetting the recent work that he's chosen to do? ENCOUNTER, for god's sake? The terrible production values and direction still make me cringe.

Daily soaps mein he chooses crap like Saraswatichandra to come back with and we were only saved by the channel deciding to end the show with the original guy.

So question the mediocrity of this film by all means but try to see it in CONTEXT of the other recent work he's chosen to do...

It was a basic rom-com, I repeat...so questioning last minute love confessions and running from the shaadi bits seems kinda redundant.

Not every role is going to be intense like Dutta...he himself doesn't seem interested in doing that anymore going by his recent interviews about wanting to do light/comedy type roles...

I frankly feel this telefilm format is great for him...looking forward to his next telefilm.

She didn't come back cuz she was gifted a million dollar diamond...she came back to the guy cuz he told her he got it made specially for her rather than giving her his mother's ring which she never felt was right for her...also she came back cuz he convinced her that she misunderstood him about the affair.

Aahana was essentially confused and unsure about the marriage to begin with and these moments all just added to the confusion...that is what they were trying to show...if there wasn't already trouble in paradise, she wouldn't have connected with Ranveer so well...

Should she have married the guy regardless in the name of "commitment" when she could see that he was only using her to rebel against his parents?😕

So I disagree completely...the movie did have substance to it...much more substance than the mediocrity abounding in bollywood and TV on general these days.

Sorry yaar if my words upset you, but it was my honest thoughts. Im not comparing this movie with any other. Im speaking in general to how lightly marriage commitment is portrayed in the name of modernity. This has nothing to do with mishal,s choice of roles or otherwise, i was commenting purely on the content, the storyline.. as to how easy it was shown for the girl to jump from one relation to another. And Ranveer was a guy she hardly remembered in the begining or interacted much to seriously consider him as a lover. Its this casual approach to relationship n the run of the mill run away bride type thats irritating me. Maybe im being conservative or outdated 😃
But i must add the girl who did Ahana is pretty talented, she was upto the job

Hey Anu! Let's not start about Encounter...as Priya aptly put it in some post...Encounter is an encounter best forgotten. I didn't even bother finishing that show epi...🤢

Thank goodness that channel had some good sense!

I can see why some didn't think much of the short film. It was a common concept and there wasn't anything unique about the plot. But for me at least, the simplicity of the story is what had me enjoying it. I agree it was filmy and a bit cheesy and nothing that great...but I think what highlighted the story were the characters of Aahana and Ranvir. Anyway as far as a telefilm goes...it was well done in my opinion regardless of the simplicity of the plot itself...a cute rom-com.

Hiya Bharti🤗 long time no see...hope you are well :)

Actually, I don't think marriage or commitment was portrayed wrongly in this film at all. Making a commitment is a big step definitely...and I agree one should think carefully before making that step...but how often does that kind of careful thinking end up being more or less a conversation to convince yourself this is the right decision...may be the arguments are weak or won't seem logical to an outsider but to the person involved a lot plays into it...you tend to over think or think about others and what they'll think etc...I think the idea here was more realistic...at least from where I'm sitting. Maybe because I've been witness to situations very similar to this one..being unsure...
