| The much-loved bahu Nandini of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi works hard to maintain that perfect figure. She is a self proclaimed health freak, but just can't resist her mother's biryani.
Gauri Pradhan, the much-liked bahu, Nandini of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is all praise for her mother-in-law's cooking. For a romantic meal, Gauri would like to dine and drink with her husband Hiten at a beach resort. Gauri Pradhan's Thought For Food
I love a simple vegetarian meal provided it is cooked at home.
My meal comprises daal, roti, sabji, curds and lots of salad.
I love non-vegetarian food, especially but it must be cooked in minimum oil.
For breakfast I have boiled eggs or a single fry with two toasts and a glass of milk.
I am a health freak. In Chinese, I love seafood. I like Italian as well. I eat three to four times a day but in small portions, the food gets digested faster that way.
I begin my day with a glass of lukewarm water followed by half a cup of tea.
If I am at home for lunch then I have chicken and a dal accompanied by one and half rotis, curds and salad.
I don't eat red meat at all; I prefer chicken and fish.
Though I love rice, I avoid eating it.
 | | When Hiten and I travel abroad we love going to a place by the beach for a drink in the evenings | When I am shooting, I try to carry a tifftn with me.
I don't eat food at shoots. I carry a lot of diet food with me so that I can munch on it when I feel hungry at the shoot.
I try to drink a lot of water.
In the evening if I have snacked on a sandwich I usually skip dinner. I just have a bowl of soup instead.
I don't take carbs after seven in the evening.
I work out six days a week. I would go to the gym earlier, I had a personal trainer too but now I work out at home. I have a treadmill at home so I run for about half an hour every day.
I also do yoga and pranayam in the mornings. I am not too fond of junk food but I love eating idlis and dosas.
A childhood memory for me is the biryani my mother would make. I haven't eaten such tasty biryani anywhere else. Even now when my mum makes it, it tastes as good as it always did.
In my fridge you'll always find tetra packs of soya milk and vegetable juices.
I am not too fond of soft drinks so we stock them only for our guests.
On some Sundays I go out and have a brunch with my husband or my friends. When I eat out nobody lets me eat healthy food so my diet goes for a toss. But I guess once in a while its fine to do that.
I can't resist buying muffins, as both Hiten and I love cakes. I am partial to banana muffins.
My favourite cooks from my family are my sister and my mother in law. They are amazing. I love the karele ka sabji my mother-in-law makes.
I am a decent cook. I make Khao Suey quite well, it's a Burmese dish with spaghetti or rice. Only a couple of restaurants in Mumbai have it on their menu.
I like dining with people who love eating. I love feeding my friends and family.
My comfort food is khichdi. The only thing I can eat when I am sick is khichdi. I sometimes put lots of veggies in it to make it more interesting.
I love going out for dinner with my husband. He makes it a point to take me out for a romantic candle light dinner. When we travel abroad we both go to a place by the beach for a drink in the evenings. I like to a have a glass of white wine and Hiten has Scotch on the rocks.
My favourite restaurant in Mumbai is Spices at the Marriott.
My favourite spice is chilly.
I have a major sweet tooth. I love sweets. I like cakes except for cheesecakes. I don't like cheese; an ideal dessert for me is a chocolate cake.
My favourite poison is tea.
In fruits, I like mangoes, jamuns and cherries.
I think I resemble a chilly because I lose my temper very fast.
