M o t h e r E a r t h , our home, a place where we spend whole our lives with everyday.

But is this very h o m e of ours a s a f e place to live?
A place where we can forget our f e a r s and live with a content heart?

No. The world is filled with terrible people doing h o r r e n d o u s c r i m e s , which increases with every passing hour, every passing minute, every passing second and among those is the a t t r o c i o u s crime, termed as " R a p e " in lawful eyes.

R a p e is a physical a s s a u l t , which commonly w o m e n have to face without their c o n s e n t to it. The victims of rape take a long time to get out of the t r a u m a and sometimes when they feel that they cannot rid of this s h a m e , they end their l i v e s .

According to the sources, about t h i r t y f i v e percent of the women in the world suffer from either rape or are physically assaulted.

Rapes are common in the countries like
India, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Canada, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, South Africa and making the top rank in the list is The United States of America.

In these places rapes are more reported then any other countries and in a sense it's good that they get reported because it is a step a g a i n s t the rapists.

In other parts of the world, rapes do o c c u r in a great big amount and they are hardly reported in shame and fear of the society.

We should throw all those fear and shame aside and take a step a g a i n s t r a p ebecause if the victim does not report about the rapist, someone else might go through the same o r d e a l!

We, the Alexander McQueen Team would like to urge you all to raise your v o i c e against rape.

After the Delhi Bus Gang Rape' of the twenty three year old girl, the amount of rapes reported have i n c r e a s e d .

The incident has left the whole world s h e l l-s h o c k e d and pining for the poor girl's grieve.

The Foreign countries joke saying that India has a F e s t i v a l o f R a p e s .

The whole world sees India as a country where rape is m o r e p r o n e to happen, the number country where rape occurs. The reality is that India might be in the top five on the list, but n o t number one.

The circumstances made it look like this, d e g r a d i n g India to a very high level!

The people in India d e s p i s e the fact that they hold such a reputation in the world and are showing some c h a n g e s against it.

But have these changes lead to d e c r e a s e in the amount of rapes is the million dollar question.

India is becoming m o d e r n and with its women are being i n d e p e n d e n t by doing jobs, opening up their own business and getting out of their house without any male protection.

This means that the amount of rape would i n c r e a s e but unlike the previous generations, the women do n o t withhold it in among themselves. By lodging a complain, they fight against the r a p i s t s .

During the The Delhi Gang Rape' incident, a minimum of h u n d r e d t h o u s a n dpeople marched together showing full support to the victim and demanding the c o n v i c t i o n s of the inhuman rapists.

The m e d i a has a very hand on this as they constantly support the victims by publishing it in the newspapers and constantly showing it in the television.

This is a step towards change, a change for the b e t t e r ...

Whether rape victims get justice has largely d e p e n d e d upon where they lived. In countries like I n d i a , A f r i c a and the M i d d l e - E a s t rape surviours continue to struggle for justice.

Rape still remains an u n d e r - r e p o r t e d and u n d e r - p r o s e c u t e d crime in most of the countries.

There are numerous hurdles to justice for rape victims.

Lack of s t r i n g e n t laws against rape.
Dismissive r e s p o n s e by police and judicial authorities.
Prosecution rates are very l o w .

Many women blame t h e m s e l v e s and do not even r e p o r t their rape to the police. Even If they report the crime they are h a r d l y given justice.

Rape and sexual assault are particularly d i s t r e s s i n g crimes for the victim and the effects can last for a long time. Feelings of g u i l t and s h a m e are common reactions, some victims blame t h e m s e l v e s that they were in some way responsible for the assault.

Providing support to one a f t e r m a t h of sexual assault can be incredibly difficult. So first we should a s s u r e the victim that whatever that has happened isn o t her fault.

Ask the v i c t i m to report the rape or sexual violence to law enforcement (The police). Professional help is available through the N a t i o n a l S e x u a l A s s a u l t Hotline 1800656 HOPE!

Encourage victim to f i g h t for herself and give most possible punishment to rapists.

If you would like to show y o u r support to rape victims please use the following s i g n a t u r e .

In this busy life of yours have you ever halted for a m i n u t e or a two and thought about what can be done to s t o p or atleast decrease the ever increasing number of rape cases around?

Well,we all know Indian g o v e r n m e n t is not at all quick and most of the time it fails to provide j u s t i c e to the rape victim. And when asked by the people about what can be done to minimize rape cases, they all say t h i n k i n g must change.

Thinking, thinking and thinking. I say chuck this thinking fiasco! You cannot change one's thinking f o r c e f u l l y ! But for those who don't want to understand, "change your thinking" won't work for them.

You need to i n t r o d u c e a system,which a rapist will f e a r to go through!

There should be a c h a n g e ! And we need to take atleast a step towards it.
The government should surely make some changes in there l a w s related to rape!

And the first step should be d e c r e a s i n g the juvenile age from 18 to 16. A 17 year old who d a r e s to rape should be punished the same way as the others. There are so many cases where a 17 year old turns into a rapist and he is n o t i m p r i s o n e d and is instead sent to a j u v e n i l e h o m e , after which he is set free.

Is this really justice to the victim? A n y rapist, juvenile or adult must be given d e a t h and nothing less.

Though the 16th December rape case has lead to e s t a b l i s h m e n t of fast track courts at some places, these courts should be established throughout India and the world. It would make the proceedings and h e a r i n g s move on swiftly. And justice won't be denied!

A government must have z e r o t o l e r a n c e for violence against women.

[ CRAZY CREATIVE & BOLLYCURRY BUZZER ]

Does our government actually do justice to the rape victims?

No. Indian government doesn't. Justice means equality in the deliverance of what has befallen someone. A minor penalty, some time in jail and I don't know, but maybe an apology isn't justice to being physically tortured, mentally harassed and physiologically disturbed.

I believe in an eye for an eye and I believe in my religious teachings of fighting who harm you and I believe in forgiveness not being the greatness of being but a way of hiding behind your own shortcomings of being a warrior. If they tortured the victim, the torture should be done on those low lives. Chop them but don't kill them, disgrace them and let them know how it feels to be exposed and assaulted. Make them beg for death and have no mercy then.

"Rapes take place also because of a woman's clothes & her behaviour"-AnonymousThen why do we hear about 9 month old and 6 year olds being sexually assaulted? Are clothes and behaviour really the causes for rape?

I have grown up knowing that a female is the most sacred thing ever created. And I respect that school of thought which says that every sacred thing should be covered as to let it not be marred by anything dirty and should and must always be seen with respect of the highest order.

But that's my view for me and I do respect the choices made by others, as my belief is also a choice not a compulsion.

Behavior is a wide word to attribute those who suffer and those who go looking for trouble. And no woman, however bold will behave in a manner that would call upon force and beastly attitude from any man.

Now are clothes and behavior of the victim parameters to measure the actions of the criminal is something that is so wrong in a statement of grammar as any absurd explanation of shortcomings from those concerned people who have no ways in dealing with something this serious.

If so was true how come women in villages, conservative countries, educated classes and trusted places being raped?

But if for some au I accept this, so does this means people in India who do blame the female believe that her suffering is unimportant and the man is as normal as any?And this is how society now will be?

Tomorrow when some group of social servants for the right of murderers will say the victim's kundali had his death written, so the criminal should be left scotfree, terrorists have more brains than us, so for the progress of the world let them do whatever they want beacuse we can't loose such talent and so on will be justified?

We lack directness. This may sound repetitive but even Arabs, being a conservative world, have such cases and its been again repeated many times what punishments they use because they are traditionalist or simply a believer of their teachings. There's no criminal defense, just the justice.

If we fear, if a major no. of countries fear that such punishments are inhuman, then I don't believe my God made me a human so that I behave like an angel. If I feel pain, I have a right as a human to avenge my pain by the same amount of pain inflected on the culprit and my God gives me that freedom of being humane to my human being.

No culture(should not be misunderstood with religion) is perfect but then again no one's wanting perfection, just the eradication of imperfection.

If your friend is sexually abused and the police refuses to file a complain/they are not able to do anything ,due to lack of evidence, how will you support her?

A slap or any means of violence that I will be able to instinctively act on will be first done on that said police people and then I'll speak and you'll hear with all. But because we are talking India and there is no justice as I accept, I'm going to apply my ways of eradicating it from that insect. I don't believe in a law if its not in law with me.

Here is a short videomix. We would like you to increase the volume of your speakers to the maximum so that the voice is audible.

With that note, it's time for us to leave. Let's pray and hope that all Rape Victims are given j u s t i c e just like for any other crime without any d i s c r i m i n a t i o n .
