Part 6

Her protests ceased but she wasn't responding much. That didn't put him off. He knew she would take time to give in fully to it. He could see that she was almost in a trance trying to adjust between disbelief over what he did and the new found intimacy that he had thrust onto her. He wasn't leaving her lips anytime soon. He poured in all his love, his deepest desires and his yearning for her into it. Before long, she gave up all her resistance and opened up, allowing him more access as he plunged deeper exploring all that he had only done in his wild dreams with her.

It was a moment to be cherished forever as they had taken a big leap in their relationship only to move forward...never to step back!!

It was a long time wish that came real in those few intimate moments. His passionate assault was not something that she could protest against though her logical mind commanded her to push him away. Her crazy heart begged her to let him go on and on.

All the questions in her mind faded into oblivion in those minutes. No doubts or questions remained in her except for what he did to her. He undid all her resolves of restraints with which she tied herself down. Within a snap of a finger, he had spelled his magical charm on her. Of course she was already impacted by him but today she was totally enchanted and lost in the dreamy trance. Her eyes closed in the torturous pleasure he bestowed on her. He bit her lower lip lightly, savouring the feminine essence which had always lured him towards her. The bites made her yelp but it wasn't in pain but pleasure that made her respond back to him even in the state of trance. Both forgot everything but each other. Their whispers which sounded like each other's names echoed through the dark room

He freed her only when they fell short of breath. Her eyes were still closed innocently which made him smile. Neither him nor his eyes could move away from her but he was a little confused whether they were ready for the next step. He was ready and wanted more of her but perhaps she is not ready, said his logical mind which had lost its control for the past few minutes. Now he tried to rein all his desires back as he didn't want to scare her away totally nor did he want to force himself on her. He knew that she would give in if he tried but that wouldn't be proper. In the spur of the moment, she might surrender herself to him but then later it might end up in a regret which he didn't want.

So he tried to get up but then he felt a downward pull and that's when he too realized that her hands which encircled him were pulling him back.

He tried once more but she wasn't letting him go. He wasn't sure what ran in her mind but he was a little worried for her. He wondered if his sudden kiss had gone the wrong way with her.

So he caressed her hair gently and pecked her forehead fondly, "Ishita..."

She didn't open her eyes but just hummed back in reply, "hmmm"

Raman continued to stroke her hair slowly and enquired, "Are you fine?"

"hmmm" her humming reply didn't calm him down but before he could ask something, she voiced, "Do you love me Raman?"

In impulse or perhaps as an obvious reply, he said, "What sort of a question is that?"

She didn't react to it instantly. As if she already knew the reply, she enquired, "I want to know Raman...So tell me, do you love me?"

"harr baat kehna zaroori hai kya? biwi ho tum meri..."

She snapped his words, "humaare shaadi sirf Ruhi ke liye hui thi Raman...Aapke biwi nahi, Ruhi ke Ishima bani thi..."

That kind of hurt him and even her as she had once again brought before them the reality of their relationship or probably the past relationship. He whispered in annoyance, "not again" and spoke in a louder voice, "I thought our equations changed long back Ishita"

She opened her eyes now to look into his eyes searching for what his heart really said. He always mocked and denied his real feelings to her and to himself. So this time, she wished to know it for sure before she weaved and built dreams around his words.

"Aap ne humesha hum dono ke feelings ka mazaag banaaya hai Raman...so I am not sure what our changed relationship sums up to?"

Her genuine words which were more of accusations pricked him deep but then anger preceded his emotions because she talked as if she didn't know the real Raman Kumar Bhalla. They knew and understood each other so well that he had taken for granted that she knew it all. Yes she did but still she wanted to hear from him.

She continued when he fell silent, "We were literally pushed into this relationship for the sake of Ruhi...Just for Ruhi, remember?"

He scowled flaring up, "sab kuch yaad hai mujhe...agar bhool gaya toh bhi tum ho na harr baar yaad dilaane keliye...You never let me forget anything!"

He was up from the bed by then and stormed off to the balcony. She knew she had hurt him but then it was much required because every time they were on the verge of acknowledging their feelings for each other, he would taunt her mercilessly and insult their feelings. He would laugh it all away like a joke, not even realizing how she felt. He would always pose blindness to the unshed tears which swam in her eyes. His indifference always put her off track and showed back her place that she was still just Ruhi's Ishima for him.

This picnic and the romantic encounters were the only times when she felt that she was becoming his wife gradually but she surely expected a confirmation from him. Once done, she wanted to become his forever, leaving no distance between them. She didn't want the distance to set them apart any day. Shagun and Adi always posed a threat to her loveless marriage. But now, when love seemed to surface between her and Raman, she wanted assurances and promises for a lifetime. She knew he would do whatever it took to assure her the togetherness but still her mind was restless without a verbal acknowledgement from him.

Off late, she had started feeling the insecurity which taunted her. Perhaps her love for him was taking a toll on her.

She got up and followed him to the balcony.

He stood leaning onto the railings at the darker side of the balcony. Somehow, the way he backed off from her and now the silence and darkness which engulfed them both made her shed her egoistic inhibitions. She felt guilty for having ruined the moment when he tried to get intimate with her. All the care and concern he showed for her replayed in her mind. She cursed and smacked herself for hurting him. She had known the real Raman and yet acted as if she was ignorant.

She walked closer and hugged him from behind, "I am sorry Raman"

That sudden move from her surprised him. A hug and an apology...something quite unexpected!

He turned around and hugged her tightly, "Ek acche se muhurat nikalwaatha hoom!"

She rolled her eyes and looked up to him enquiringly when he grinned naughtily and replied with a wink, "Jhansi ki Rani se I love you jo bolna hai"
