The monsoons had begun, casting its spell on nature, the sweet soil intoxicating the earth with its fragrance. On this chill windy night, she kept running as fast as she could, away from him, who made her life miserable. Her lungs hurt as she took quick breaths in rapid gusts, but she could not afford to stop; for if she did, it was certain that she would lose her life in his hands. And that was the last thing she wanted to do. So she kept running; running like there was no tomorrow; running like she wanted to reach the other end of the world; running far away from him - he who married her only to make her life hell since the past six months. She deserved a better life - a life of happiness. Tears welled up her eyes and her vision became blur as her steps faltered. And just then, a pair of bright headlights blinded her temporarily. The majestically dark SUV stopped inches from her, with the lights still bright. She felt dizzy and fell to the ground, expecting the hard concrete to come in severely hard contact with her head. Just then a pair of strong arms, which must have belonged to the man driving the car, held her by her shoulders. "Help me..." she whispered at the blur image of the man before everything in front her eyes darkened.
