It hasn't been easy for the ever-enterprising Karan Johar to get his former best-friend Shah Rukh Khan's arch-enemy Salman Khan on board for Shuddhi.
The superstar who was initially reluctant to poach into SRK's territory has agreed to do a Dharma at a price. And what a price!
According to a source in the know Salman's staggering fee for Shuddhi is the highest ever paid to any Indian actor.
Says the source, "Firstly Salman has asked for the entire first week's worldwide collection as part of his fee. Secondly, Salman asked and got 40 percent of the satellite rights of Shuddhi. And finally from the accrued profits of the film Salman will get 20 percent, while Dharma will walk away with 80 percent."
According to trade experts this amounts to an approximate fee of a whopping Rs 150 crores.
This is an all-time high for any Indian actor.
Says trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Actually it's all between the producer and actor these days. But a 150 crore fee sounds too high to be true."
