Anandi had narrated to Shiv the memories of the past that she had lived after he had gone from her life. She was engaged to be married to Shiv's cousin Jagdeesh. Shiv himself had suggested of this alliance as he thought that Anandi was in love with Jagdeesh from her early years and she should be married to a man she loves. He made this decision despite knowing that she wanted to be married to him and be a mother to their daughter Saumyaa. Anandi had already narrated how pained she was with the rishta and also how cheap Jagdeesh behaved with her. Shiv could not believe it but he had to. He knew something about Jagdeesh no one else ever knew. Anandi continued to reveal the incident which could have gotten her out of the alliance.

Anandi: Sangeet ki shaam meri zindagi ka sabse bada bharam toota... Uss din mujhe mere pyar ki sacchai ka pata chala...

Shiv: Kaisi sacchai Anandi? Kya likha tha uss note mein?

Anandi: Uss din mujhe pata chala ki jo awaaz maine college festival mein suni thi... jo awaaz meri rooh ko mere dil ko choo gayi thi wo Jagdeesh ki nahi thi... Wo awaaz uski ho hi nahi sakti thi...

Shiv: Anandi how can you be so sure? Kya tumne iss unsaan ka chehra dekha tha jisne wo song gaya tha?

Anandi: Main uss awaaz ko kabhi nahi bhool sakti... Uss awaaz ko sunkar mujhe pehli baar pyar ka ehsaas hua tha... Maine uss awaaz se juda face nahi dekha tha but uss awaaz ko sunne ke baad maine Jagdeesh ka face dekha tha iss liye toh mujhe misunderstanding ho gayi thi... You won't believe it Jagdeesh kitna bura gaata hai... Aur uski song ki choice bhi kitni out of place out of occasion thi... Koi public mein aisa bhadda double meaning wala song kaise gaa sakta hai...

Flashback.

The sangeet ceremony was held at Kalyani Devi's haveli. The decoration was expensive just like Jagdeesh liked things. Anandi was feeling out of body because it seemed like everyone else was so calm and happy while she was so unhappy about the ceremony. She was seated on a beautifully decorated stage. So what if the stage was beautiful, the man she had to marry was as ugly as one could get. He was ugly not in looks but his soul, his heart and mind was. Jagdeesh came and sat next to her.

Jagdeesh: Mera note mila.

Anandi: Hmm

Jagdeesh: Kaisa laga? It is the truth after all. Mere naam ki mehendi ka rang tumhare haath par chad gaya hai. Kal mere badan se utri haldi tumhe lagayi jaayegi. Mere badan ka rang tumhaare badan par I mean jitna logon ko dikhega utne badan par lagega aur phir suhaagraat par mera har rang tumhaare ha ang par chadega.

Anandi: Jagdeesh stop it.

Jagdeesh: Arre kya hua? Maine aisi baat ki toh accha nahi laga? Haan koi aur karta toh accha lagta na... Uski baatein, uski harkatein, uski shararatein tumhe acchi lagti hai na... If you want I can takes tips from him...

Anandi could not understand what Jagdeesh said to her. She did not even want to listen to his crap let alone understand it. Anandi left from there. She turned back and gave Jagdeesh a disgusting look. He smiled and gave her a look which made Anandi feel sick in the stomach. Traditional wedding songs were being sung. Jagdeesh interrupted the performance of folk dancer and he began to sing a bollywood wedding themed song which was very vulgar. Anandi just wanted the torture to end and the moment she heard Jagdeesh sing a bright smile came to her face. She went to her mother and took her in an empty room.

Anandi: Ma aap meri shaadi Jagdeesh se issliye karwa rahi thi na kyunki aapko laga ki wo wohi insaan hai jiss se main pyar karti hoon. Jiji ki aakhri iccha bataya tha na aapne mere aur mere pyar ki shaadi ko. Ma Jagdeesh wo insaan nahi hai. Aaj Jagdeesh ne gana gaya aapko sach mein lagta hai ki main aisi phati dhol jaisi awaaz mein gaane wale insaan ki awaaz ke peeche baawri ho sakti hoon? Ma Jagdeesh wo insaan nahi hai. Wo mera pyar nahi hai. Aap ye shaadi rukwa dijiye.

Bhago: Pyar nahi tujhe uss se toh shaadi ke baad ho jaayega. Teri shaadi Jagdeesh se hi hogi aur wo bhi do dino mein.

Anandi tried calling Shiv to tell him that he was mistaken. Jagdeesh was not the man with the voice that she had fallen in love with. Shiv's number was unreachable.

Flashback ends.

Anandi: Uss din agar main aapko contact kar paati toh kya aap aakar shaadi rok dete. Hai na?

Shiv: ... Anandi wo...

Anandi: Mujhe aappar poora yakeen hai aap shaadi rok dete... Par...

Shiv: Par kya?

Anandi: Par main aapko acche se jaanti hoon... Aap Jagdeesh se meri shaadi nahi hone dete par aap khud bhi mujhse shaadi nahi karte... Jagdeesh nahi toh koi aur hota aap kisi aur ko le aate meri life mein par khud mujhe apni zindagi mein shaamil nahi hone dete... Baat meri khushi ki nahi thi baat aapki marzi ki thi...

A new realziation had dawned to Anandi. She now understood that Shiv at any cost, in any way wanted her to stay away from him. She realized that her wish for Saumyaa, Shiv and herself to be a family was only from their side. Shiv never wished for it. Anandi felt betrayed by Shiv. He did not want to share a life with her, he did not want to share his joy or sorrow with her, he did not wish to be with her. Shiv saw that an uncontrollable sadness, like someone dies filled Anandi's heart. This realization created a huge hole in her soul that maybe could never be filled. He was relieved though that she did not know the truth then. If she had she would have gone into depression, well after her parents' death in Delhi in that hotel room realizing that her parents had known about her failed marriage with Jagdeesh she did go into depression feeling like there would be no happiness in her life ever again. Shiv had broken his and Anandi's family they could have had with Saumyaa, so when he saw the chance of making it a family again and to have a beautiful addition to it in the Soumya's form he did not wait, he made the first move. He left his job in Chittod and took the transfer to Jaitser but he never could tell Anandi this. Anandi sat there in the corner angry and hurt. Shiv sat in another corner remembering the day he poured his feelings about Anandi in a song. He did it without anyone knowing about it.

Flashback.

Shiv was posted in Chittod, actually he had taken that job on purpose to get Anandi away from him. He suffered without her but more than him Anandi and Saumyaa suffered without eachother. He knew he had wronged them but he thought it was all for Anandi's future. As time past he realized that the future he chose for her was nothing but the darkest phase of her life. He while being in Chittod had come to know of Jagdeesh and Gauri's affair. In order to save Anandi's marriage Shiv got himself engaged with Gauri but as they say the truth cannot be hidden, Anandi saw with her own eyes Jagdeesh with Gauri in a compromising position. That was the day she came to know she was carrying Jagdeesh's child. She also realized that her parents' had known the truth and that truth resulted in ther death. Shiv had rectified his mistake of getting Anandi married to a man who was not worthy of her.

Anandi and Shiv began once again to live their separate lives Anandi with her inlaws in Jaitser and Shiv with Saumyaa in Chittod. He had kept tabs on Anandi and their son Saumya. He had heard of the progress of Jaitser under Anandi's capable leadership. Jaitser had been declared a district all because of Anandi's hard work and dedication. Shiv was given the opportunity to be the DC of Udaipur or Jaitser. He did not need a second to make his choice. He chose Jaitser, he chose Anandi, he chose his children, and he chose the family that he had once broken, he chose to make two incomplete families complete. It was Shiv's last night in Chittod. It was his farewell party. He was asked to sing a song as a farewell gift to the staff members. Shiv refused at first but after two three shots he was in the mood to pour his pent up feelings into a song. He filled another glass almost to the brim. He was already drunk as he saw Anandi in that alchohol filled glass.

Shiv:

Shiv's flashback ended as he heard Anandi's sobbing. He had hurt her one more time even when it was not his intention. He got up to go to her but as she saw him moving towards her she looked up, he saw tears in her eyes, tears that once again he had given her. Shiv moved ahead but put her hand up and shook her head telling him to stop and to stay away from her. Shiv could not believe that Anandi would ask him to stay away. He had hurt her so much and till when would he continue to do so? Anandi wiped her tears and she walked out of the room brushing past Shiv as if he did not matter to her at that moment. Shiv sat there on the bed thinking about ways to get Anandi to smile. Their talk was not over. The pain was still inside of her. He wanted to take that pain away but ended up causing more. He smiled as he remembered how Soumya got Anandi to break her maun vrat when she used to be miffed at him. He got up and went out of the room. He saw that Anandi was in the kitchen. He smiled as no matter how angry she would be with him she would not let him be on an empty stomach. She ignored him.

Shiv: Lunch bana rahi ho?

Silence.

Shiv: But Anandi lunch time toh kabka chala gaya. Abhi luch karoonga toh dinner nahi kar paaoonga tum Soumya ko yehi kehti ho na jab wo dinner se pehle kuch aur maangta hai. Bolo na.

Silence.

Shiv: Ek kaam karo na chai aur pakode ho jaaye.

Shiv thought Anandi would be irritated and would scold him as she had already begun preparing for a meal. Anandi put the vegetable she was cutting. She went to take a bowl to mix the pakoda batter but Shiv was there first and he gave it to her with a smile. Anandi did not react to his very infectious smile. What ever she wanted Shiv reached out for it and gave it to her. Anandi began to make the batter for the pakodas. Shiv took various vegetables and began to cut them. He was slicing potatoes on the mandolin slicer.

Shiv: Aaah!!! Ouch!!! Mummy!!!

Anandi: Kya hua? Chot lagi?

Shiv: Nahi time pass kar raha hoon. Tum bhi na slicer par meri finger cut gayi.

Anandi: Jiska kaam usi ko saajhe aur kare toh buddhu baaje.

Shiv: Anandi mujhe dard ho raha hai mera ilaaj karo taana baad mein dena.

Anandi forgot all her own pain and at once began to tend to Shiv's would. As an impulse she sucked his finger to stop the blood.

Anandi: Tomato ketchup?

Shiv: Tasty hai na?

Anandi could not believe it. Shiv was upto such antics when she was in pain. He wanted to put a smile on her face but this was certainly not the way. If he wanted her to be ok he had to tell her why he did not want her in his lfe then. He had to explain it to her because she certainly could not understand his point. She left from there. Shiv made tea and snacks. He set the table in the garden under the gazebo. He took Anandi there to share a cup of tea and some snacks. Anandi was still quiet. Her smile was in some far off place. It would not be easy to get it back. Shiv looked at her continuously, her eyes were dry, there were no more tears left for her to shed. She felet his eyes on her and looked up. Their eyes met.

Shiv: Anandi I know maine tumhe bahut hurt kiya hai par main kya karta... Anandi main ek bacchi ka baap tha main nahi chahta tha ki tum kisi aur ki zindagi jeeyo. Main nahi chahta tha ki tum Ashima ki parchayi bankar reh jaao. Main chahta tha ki tumhaara apna ghar ho, tumhaara apna rishta ho, tumhaara apna parivaar ho... Anandi main nahi chahta tha ki tum kisi aur ki kami poori karo... Ek baat batao tum meri jagah hoti toh kya karti? Kya ek bacche ki ma hokar tum mujhse shaadi karti agar main kuwara hota toh?

Anandi: Aap humesha kehte hain ki zyaada baat kartne mein mujhse koi nahi jeet sakta... Par baatein bananae mein aapse main nahi jeet sakti... Sawaal ka jawaab sawaal nahi hota... Kya ye mera ghar nahi tha? Kya ye mera parivaar nahi tha? Kya yahaan mere rishtey nahi the? Agar aapne inn sab cheezon ke baare mein socha hota toh aap wo nahi karte jo aapne kiya... Aap mere jeevan ki dor kisi aur se nahi baandhte... Aur sabse important baat aap ek ma aur bacchi ki alag nahi karte... Chahe sab kuch jiji ka tha, ye ghar, aap, aapka aur unka rishta... Sab kuch par Saumyaa wo meri thi... Sirf meri... Sirf main uski ma thi... Aapko pata hai mere saath jo bhi galat Jagdeesh ne kiya maine uss se kabhi koi shikayat nahi ki kyunki uss se mera koi rishta nahi tha... Par jo aap ne kiye mujhe uss se shikayat hai... Shikayat kar sakti hoon na main aapse? Itna toh rishta hai na humaara...
