Next morning, Tara was waiting for Aradhana to leave for the palace but she was busy doing other work. After sometime, Tara asked "Mom are you not going to the palace?"
"No, I will go but later. I took permission from the Queen for one day. See the condition of the house my child. All the things are lying here and there. And especially we are not able to find your red scarf. So I took half day leave to finish that work."
"Mom is at home. How I will go to the forest to bring my scarf back?" thinking this Tara went to Aradhana.
"Mom you go to the palace. I will search for that scarf."
"No my child let me find it" replied Aradhana, continuing her work.
"Tara no chance. You need to wait till mom leaves for the palace." thinking this, Tara started helping Aradhana.
Here at the palace, the Queen left before sunrise in the costume of a normal villager. She covered herself with a shawl. After walking for hours, she reached Kalavati's place.
She pleaded, "Kalavati you took my son, my happiness, the king's happiness. What else do you want? Please return my son. I am ready to give you anything you want. But please at least show me my son. I will never disclose that my first son is alive. Please tell me where is he?"
Witch Kalavati was enjoying the Queen pleading in front of her, she smiled and said, "Oh my Queen! It's the punishment for interfering in a witch's work. Your husband interrupted me from doing magic, the spell to gain youth forever, in which my happiness lay. He snatched my happiness, so did I. It's my kindness that your son is still alive. But if you try to tell anyone, I will kill him."
Hearing this, Queen Nirmala got scared.
"I will not tell anyone. Please don't do anything to my son." saying this the Queen left that place.
She was walking in the forest,lost in the thoughts of her lost son when she hurt her foot on a stone. She sat down there to nurse her injured foot.
She felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see a tall man with a physique like a warrior.
Seeing him, the Queen thought of her son as he would be of the same age as this man and wiped her tears.
"Why are you crying ma'am?May I help you? I am Mrityunjay. I live in these woods."
"Ma'am, ma'am...are you alright?"
The Queen started to move but was not able to walk.
"Ma'am, I think your leg is hurt. May I help You?" asked Mrityunjay seeing that lady's condition.
Queen Nirmala was not able to say no to him. The more she looked at him, the more she felt like he was her son.
Mrityunjay rubbed the Queen's leg and her sprain was gone.
He asked "Why were you crying?"
"I lost my son. If he would have been alive, he would be of your age." replied the Queen putting her hand on Mrityunjay's head.
For the first time in his life, Mrityunjay felt a mother's touch.
"I don't have a mother but if she had been alive, she must have been like you." replied Mrityunjay, taking the Queen's hand in his .
The Queen kissed Mrityunjay on his forehead. It was a mother's kiss. A true love's kiss, which was full of love and blessings for her son.
This kiss revived the dull bloodline tree. It started glowing.
This kiss also charged Mrityunjay's body with new strength.
The Queen went away thinking, "I wish he had been my son."
Aradhana, while leaving for the palace, took Tara with her as Princess Meethi might need her.
On reaching the palace, Tara went to the Queen's room to wish her, and there she found the Queen silently watching the bloodline trees.
Tara saw the Queen was sad. It was the first time Tara was seeing her sad. The Queen was a person who always had a smile on her face whatever be the condition. Many questions were raised in Tara's mind.
"Your Highness" she said bowing before her.
On hearing Tara's sweet voice, the Queen turned towards her with a smile.
"Tara, come my dear" the Queen opened her arms to hug her and Tara hugged her back.
"I saw you consoling Princess Meethi. It's good to see her making new friends. Sharing problems with friends reduces its burden on you." Saying this , the Queen was once again sad thinking about her own condition.
She can't share the news that Kalavati hadn't killed her first child.
Mrityunjay's face came to the Queen's mind when she thought about her first son. That man appeared in her mind every time she thought about her first son, since their encounter in the forest.
"Thank you my queen"
The Queen didn't hear that as she was again immersed in the thoughts of her firstborn and that man in the woods Mrityunjay.
She was wished she could see her son at least once. Just once to kiss his forehead, for the last time she can hug her son, shower her love from which he was banished just moments after his birth. Thinking this, a tear trickled down her eye.
Tara was talking nonstop about the conversation between her and the Princess. She noticed the tears flowing from the Queen's eyes. She wondered what might have made her cry.
"Oh my Queen! Can I ask you a question?" asked Tara.
"Yes my dear Tara." replied the Queen, trying to act as if she was normal.
"That magical tree" she said slowly, trying not to offend and disrespect the Queen.
The Queen started to explain about the magical tree,and this was the same as Aradhana had told Tara. Tara wanted to know the answer of her question, and decided to take the risk and asked.
"As these magical trees are the symbol of the well-being of the King's bloodline, how is it be possible for the first tree to be dull when the King's first son is dead. I mean that tree should be dead."
"Wait... that tree is glowing!"
Tara exclaimed, looking outside at the glow of the previously dull tree.
Queen Nirmala looked outside the window at Tara's comment.
"That tree is glowing!"
The Queen's happiness knew no bounds on seeing this.
She grabbed Tara's hand and asked her not to tell anyone about this change in the tree.
"But they will notice Your Highness." replied Tara.
"I will see that no one goes there" replied the Queen.
"I must go now." Tara bowed and left for Princess Meethi's room.
Nirmala called the guard and ordered him to see that no one goes near those magical trees. Rope off the area and place guards there so that no one is able to see those trees.
There was no limit to the Queen's happiness.
She thought, "This means that the man in the woods...Mrityunjay is my son...my lost son."
She looked at her hands, which had touched her first child, her feet which had been touched by her son. This was the happiest day of her life after losing her first child.
"But the tree... started glowing suddenly? He was alive then why was the tree dull?"The Queen wondered.
"The other two trees always glowed after the birth of Prince Aditya and Princess Vasundhara. Why was the first one dull? Tara's question about the tree is valid. "
"What's my luck! I can't tell the King about his beloved child." Remembering this, the Queen became sad once again.
Tara at the first instance, skipped out of the palace.
Mrityunjay, on reaching home, informed Guruji about his meeting with a woman, who was crying for her lost son.
"After seeing that woman crying, I feel that my mom must be crying for me. Guruji please tell me about my family" asked Mrityunjay.
"It is not the right time for you to know about your family. I will tell you about them when the right time comes." saying this, Guruji went out of the house.
Mrityunjay went to Maria and told her about how he felt for that woman in the woods, the motherly touch, the love and blessing.
He then went up to the machan to rest. He was lost in the touch of his mother.
