Tara left the palace at her first chance. She walked quickly through the forest to make her way to Mrityunjay. She wanted to reach there on time, and return home before dusk. She was happy as she is going to meet Mrityunjay once again, but she was confused at same time as how she will ask for her scarf. With these happy thoughts and confused emotions she reached Mrityunjay's place.
She was about to call out his name, when her eyes fell on the machan and widened with shock. Her feet was stuck to the place where she was standing. She saw a bear on the staging who was about to attack Mrityunjay.
She immediately gathered herself and moved into action, and a sudden rush of courage ran through her body. She looked around nearby thinking how to get that bear away from Mrityunjay. She saw a crossbow near the staging. She quickly grabbed it taking care so that the bear wouldn't notice her.
As soon as she got the crossbow, she took aim at the bear and without further delay shot at it. The arrow hit her target, cutting through the air and the bear's dying moan broke the silence of the surroundings. The bear was dead on the ground the very next moment.
Mrityunjay woke up at that sound which broke the silence of that place and was stunned to see a bear near him and at the very next moment that bear was dead on ground. He immediately got to his feet with sheer surprise, thinking who shot that arrow with so much precision and accuracy and such speed.
When he saw the crossbow in Tara's hand, he was astonished. He was amazed to see a girl with beauty as well as warrior skills. He had not even seen any man so good at archery in many years, and Tara was superb at it.
He got down from the staging. Tara ran to him and examined his body moving her hand from his face to his strong arms to see whether that bear had hurt him anywhere.
Seeing Tara worried, Mrityunjay said, "I am alright Tara. See there is not a single scratch on me. Thank you for coming on time and saving me."
When Tara got fully satisfied that he was alright, she took a couple of steps back to maintain her distance with him. His strong body that she touched just now attracted her more as she stood near him.
"How did you do that? I never imagined that a girl like you can even know how to use it, and you used it with such accuracy and speed. You are very good at archery Tara. From where did you learn that?" He said in a single breath, showing his surprise to see this talent in the girl who he met a just a few days ago.
Tara smiled. "My mom taught me. Every girl should know how to protect herself."
He was impressed with Tara's talent and her reply.
"You are a hunter. How come you didn't notice that a bear came so close to you?" She asked, as hunters are always alert.
Even in their sleep if something passes near them they wake-up and it was day time when the Bear was going to attack him. It was not possible that it would go unnoticed by a hunter but here was Mrityunjay who didn't see the bear until Tara's arrow killed it.
"Today a strange thing happened Tara..." He felt sharing his worry with Tara might show him some way out of this.
He narrated his meeting with the old lady in the forest .
" For the first time Tara, I felt like I was with my mom. And from that moment I have been thinking about my family." He turned away from Tara.
Tara felt sad hearing this. She now saw a kid in Mrityunjay who was lonely and wanted his family. To divert his attention and to cheer him up, she started talking about Maria.
"Mrityunjay, what's name of your mare? She looks very strong "
"Maria." He replied sadly.
"Maria...hmm...Interesting." She replied coming near her. Mrityunjay was caressing Maria.
"You gave her this name?" She asked seeing no change in Mrityunjay's expression.
He turned his face towards Tara and nodded his head in yes.
"Have you ever been to Storybrooke? Our King Jayraj lives there." She said chuckling .
"No" He replied not paying her any attention and busy in caressing Maria.
"You should go. One day I will take you there. What say?" She asked excitedly.
"I can't go there. My Guruji does not allow me to go there." He replied thoughtfully.
"I wish I could meet your Guruji. He sounds very interesting." She said making a sad face.
"Ok. I will try to introduce you to him." He said seeing Tara's sad face.
"Guruji and Maria are the two most important people in my life." He said arranging Maria's reins.
"And you too." He said in his mind watching her from the corner of his eyes.
Tara diverted their talk to random things to cheer up Mrityunjay and she succeeded in that.
Nandini was trying to catch a glimpse of that girl from far away as she doubted her observation of seeing Tara there yesterday. And yes she was wrong yesterday but today she saw her target Tara. Her life is now safe from Kalavati.
She just needed to capture Tara and hand her over to Kalavati and then there would be no more threats to her life. She wanted to attack and capture her at that moment but after observing Mrityunjay's place which was full of weapons, she thought it is better to wait for the right time.
Tara watched Mrityunjay feeding Maria and noticed her scarf tied on his forehead. The scarf was suited his brooding personality. She wanted to ask for her scarf back but each time she raised her head to talk to him her eyes got stuck on his magnificent personality which her scarf complimented.
In all her attempts to ask him, she was falling more for him. In the evening, Mrityunjay dropped her outside the forest on his horse.
Tara was still absorbed in the memories of the sweet ride on Maria while entering her house when a suspicious and angry voice got her attention.
"Where were you?"
She turned to see her mother standing with her hands on her hips. Seeing Aradhana standing there, Tara turned pale.
But she quickly managed and said, "Mom remember I went to the fair that day?"
"Yes I do." Aradhana replied in a bit confused tone.
"I think I lost my red scarf there. So I went to search that place while returning from the palace. I looked for it but I didn't find it there and so I am late." she said in one breath.
After listening to her daughter, Aradhana hugged her.
"My child don't go anywhere without informing me. I lost your father and now you are my only reason to live. I get worried for you my child if I don't find you here."
After hearing her mother's love and trust towards her, she felt guilty. But she could not decide whether to tell her the truth or to keep it a secret till the right time.
At the palace, revelation of Mrityunjay as her first son gave the Queen the happiness of her life back. Her face reflected it as well. The King noticed his long lost wife, whom he had lost with the death of their first son.
"Can a husband talk to his wife if you permit my Queen?" His voice full of love brought Nirmala back to reality.
"Oh! My Lord. You have all the right to command your wife." She said bowing down. He made her rise by holding her shoulder gently.
"Nirmala, my love I am glad to see you happy. The way you used to be years ago, before the birth of our first child..." His voice started to crack.
"Can I be part of your happiness?"
Hearing her husband's words she was about to blurt out the reason of her happiness when the mother in her commanded her, "Do not speak a word if you want to see your son alive!" This thought stopped her.
"My love," she kissed him and continued "The children are safe. Is that not a reason enough for a mother to be happy?" He hugged her.
"Adi just returned safely from an attack. I am happy he is safe." A tear rolled down her cheek. "And finding our first son too." She said in her mind.
Telling a half truth to her husband Jayraj made her feel guilty. But for now that was correct and the only path for her.
With the arrival of the night, the power of the dark creatures increases.
After appointing Vampire Nandini on the mission of finding the girl, Witch Kalavati herself hunts her preys to get enough energy to survive till the girl is found.
The best time for hunting was at night when the dark is powerful. She used to move around in Storybrooke at night as an old lady to capture young girls and feed on them.
After spending half a day with Tara and watching her act of heroism, Mrityunjay was not able to forget Tara for a moment.
On the other side Tara, who saw a child in that tough body craving for his mother, was also lost in his thoughts.
